Shadow Shot Sunday...The Goat Path...

What if
I caught a dream, to follow
well trodden paths
down dirt roads...perhaps
longing for a different
song...but
searching
the familiar trails
to guide my hour,
whilst another day slips away...
I wish for a truer
sonnet to embrace my task...
a sweet rumor of happiness,
perhaps a
different shade of Zen
down the tumb'ling hills and dales
of my heart...
I'll promise it a series
of untangled love affairs
and lullabies,
just send them to old fields far away,
uncluttered and calmed
by starshine
and moonbeam
and the scent
of newly mowed hay...
I'll dance on the green shores
of this new journey
down a goat's path...
my promise to thee
as I await the sky
to open
to dreams of hummingbirds
and cherry blossoms...
I shall keep thee near
and sing my song of the
travels of time passing
down a goat path...
familiar
is my journey home.

The things we do to get our illusive shadows...picture driving down a highway to your destination...talking on the cell phone, camera on lap, 'cause ya never know...right...then up over the hill you see this once in a lifetime shot...grab camera, knee steering truck, cell phone embedded in ear, slowing, you snap the shot trying not to be seen...the Amish don't like to be photographed...driving by, you hope you captured some bit of this rural Iowa scene...

Hope you enjoy this shot as much as I did, it was worth the risk...take a risk and join the shadow hunt...thanks Tracy!!!

Off to work I go...
