A room with a view...

I've been seeking change for my upstairs retreat,
the farmhouse bedroom...
It's been this faded yellow for quite some time now
and you know me and how unsettled I am, I've been
wanting to paint it white...

But yesterday when I was putting clean, sun-dried
sheets and quilt on the bed, I felt a calm in the room...
the distressed yellow of the walls gave me that
comforted feel that any old(not)woman would get when
walking into her room...her sanctuary.
So I've decided to keep the faded walls as is,
to remind me of imperfection and to see the beauty
of just being able to climb those creaky old stairs
and to breathe another day in the life...!

My upstairs bathroom...
hey, back in the day there were no such luxuries!
You walked the walk to the downstairs(quickly)...
but I have modern conveniences...NO OUT-HOUSE...!
This lil' nook serves it's purpose well...in a pinch!!!

My love of Florida fills my room with dreams
and the sounds and smells of the ocean,
a constant reminder of the beauty and the peace
on Earth...and the struggle to keep it alive!

AND...thanks TOT, my bestest bud and partner
in crime...I LOVE MY NEW CURTAINS!!!!!
They totally finish the room in style and love...
ahhhhhh...
