Let them eat cake...

How about a little ghoulish dessert...yummy Almond Cake,
drizzled with rich, ripe blood and a dollop of skull
to top it off...YUMMMMM...
Delectable soaps for all hallows eve.

Got back to the shop today after shipping off soap orders
and to my surprise, my brother was there starting to build my gazebo
SWEET!!!
The 2x6 lumber was given to me by my soul sister
Cathy C. and her man Bill, my bestest buds!
Thanks kids!!!
A special thanks to my brother Michael!
LOVE YOU!

Scratchy approved, great place to play ball...
you wanna play Mom???
Now the fun begins...
I'm on the hunt for old chippy corner brackets,
but in the meantime...
I'll drape it with burlap fabric so the trumpet vines
will have something to cling to.
Today I dig the vines and transplant to their new home.
I was gonna plant Autumn clematis on the posts,
but the trumpet vines bloom all summer,
great food source for the hummers, so I have to be practical,
as the clematis is a short burst of blooms,
only lasting a few weeks, if that.

Had two wonderful gals from Canada
visit the new shop yesterday, these crazy gals follow my blog
and had to see for themselves whatsup!
Of course they had to tour the chateau...
note to self...
CLEAN HOUSE!!!
Y'all know as well as I, that this biz allows little time for house cleaning,
the girls also did a forced showing of Barb C's house...
it is what it is
in the wonderful world of an antique dealer...
what's a little dust and cobwebs and clutter...

Most popular...

Just had to tell ya...
I worked in my garage!
Been so long since I've had one
that it's a real thrill just to say
I worked in it...
This cute lil' black weathered highboy
is going to Sisters' for the open house...
can't wait!!!

Many of you have asked which scents are the most
popular right now...well,
the skulls for sure in their blood bath...

Next, the Pumpkin Cheesecake,
what a decadent fragrance!!!

Next is the Orange Clove...this will work
right on through the holiday season...
I can't believe I even said that...ewwww!!!

Then there's the Strawberry Rhubarb...
all I can say is, you better find one or bake one,
cause the torture will be there...trust me!!!

I'm trying new scents out too,
so be ready to try 'um...
YUMM!!!

Early mornin' sunrise...

1, 2, 3...lil' cement urns all in a row...
brought in the fancy headboard with vines attached,
cool look huh!!!

Love it every mornin' when the sun's first rays enter the shop...

Of course I was anxious to get out there this mornin'
with my first cuppa Joe
because...
I went shoppin' yesterday, found some great stuff!
Wonderful chest with marble insert,
lil' white farm chair and sweet lil' stool
and check out that bridal shadow box...

Cute lil' table with drawer and funky old
parlor chair...
and remember the lil' pink chest,
it's now white, which means the possibilities
for a sale are much greater.

ahhhhhhhh...vignettes...

Well, I caved...
I painted that wonderful old cupboard I bought from Sandy
at Amazing Grace in the Amanas!
I struggled with this one 'cause it looked so great in my house,
but it really brightens up the shop too.
I have a little more sanding to do on it today...
because...
at 1:30 in the mornin', the tinkle of rain on my metal roof
awoke me in a flash, as I had left a piece of furniture
outside the shop door...they didn't tell me it would rain.
As it was, it was gone as fast as it came,
didn't even get the piece wet.
So there I am, in my new lil' play house,
WIDE AWAKE...sooo...
whatta ya do...PAINT!!!

Back in the sack at 4:00 for a few more hours...
now I better get busy on my 5 dogs that
are here for they're beauty treatments...
Have a great day!

THEY'RE BAAACK.....

Yup, the ghoulies are back at the Candle Shed...
Piper's bowling pin gitters were such a success last year
she's done them again this season.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm noticing a real
excitement about Fall this year...
if you're trying to buy stuff for Halloween,
the shelves are already empty in some of the stores...

sooooo...again we create our own stuff,
MADE IN AMERICA
it's the American way!

Was talking to dealer friends Mark and Liz
the other day, they have been doing
the Kane County flea market for 35 years
and have seen the ups and downs...
they have also noticed that it's going back to the way it
was before China took over the market on crafts/art.
Remember how fun the fleas used to be
before it turned Chinese...
it's a junk revival for sure...
OMG...
I just thought of the name for my annual flea markets
I want to have at the new shop...
DAMN...I better git started organizing huh...!

BTW...

Looky looky...

Is this baker's rack not to die for...
I was rearranging in my kitchen(sweat shop)
yesterday and decided that I needed some shelves
that had more room to stack soap pans on.
When I do the big orders,
there just isn't enough space to cure the soaps,
then they need cutting and packing,
this will hold 6 pans per shelf...
my kitchen table(what a joke)
hasn't seen a meal in years,
it's always filled with soap stuff...
solution solved, I found this great piece at Sisters'.
SWEET!!!
Thanks Barb for the great deal!!!
(still doesn't mean my table will stay eatable)
ha!

TaDa...
Sister's new paint job...
isn't it divine!
Gettin' ready for the open house next week,
I'd love to show ya shots of the great stuff
the girls are collecting...
but then I'd have to kill ya...ha!
Mark your calenders Sept 17 &18...
See ya there!

Yummy Autumn soap...

Pumpkin Cheesecake...oh yeah,
totally TO DIE FOR!!!
I love the lil' punkin and leaf shapes...
don't ya just love getting around to Autumn
and all the fun decorating for a change
of season...and cool air.

Wanted sumthin different, so I used a loaf pan and my
curly cutter to give it a baked goods
kinda look...
you should smell my lil' shop...
scrumptious!!!

The decorating never ends,
as I hung a pair of weathered old lace curtains...
some would throw away, but the feel of old
never leaves my mind.

Every rafter needs an antler set too...right...

There's that punkin again...I bought this one last Fall at Sisters'
I just couldn't make myself throw it in the compost pile,
so all winter I swept off the snow, watched the ice melt,
moved it to shovel around, at times
it felt mushy and I almost pitched it,
but didn't and as the weather warmed,
I noticed it was getting lighter, drying out...
so now it sits center stage in it's new home...
bringing in the Fall!!!

What's it like to play in a new shop...WEEEEEE...

I brought home my most favoritest rocker...
something about this chair just rocks
my boat...
I have a crush on a chair!!!
Oh yeah and the cute lil' metal stars!

Found this great horse crocheted piece,
perfect on a bright white door, huh!

I heart dried herbs...so I played...
These darling lil' cast shoes
make perfect vases for my tansy
and oregano...mmmmm...
and a touch of a season to come!

SWEET!!!

The color of this comb painted cabinet
lends itself well to the seasonal flair...

Lil' metal punkin garden stakes nestle
next to the real McCoy...
this punkin sat on my porch all winter last
year and totally dried out...
how cool is that, I'm gonna do more of them
this year...the look is FABU!!!

...and of course, Candle Shed's yummy candles in
Pumpkin Cheesecake,
Pumpkin Spice, Lemon Drop Cookies...
finger-lickin' good!!!

PS...for those who want to know about the pumpkin,
I didn't do anything to it, it just sat on my porch all winter.
I think the key was it wasn't buried in snow,
however, it did get snow and ice on top of it
at times, but it melted off...
Good luck!
