The peaceful season...Sisters Garden...

For those of you that have been...you know...
The houses, the yard, the everything
is filled to the max with great stuff
dragged in by all of us crazy dealer/pickers...

The Autumn season is filled with colors and textures
to make our home and life the nesting experience
we need to fulfill our dreams...

We know what lies ahead, so we scramble to bring in the last
bits of color before it all turns away...to Winter...

So inside we play...great cupboard Deb...
this piece is HUGE...but how cool
and what a great piece of storage or display!

A tall lil' cupboard, again, great for display...

...and ever popular in any season, fresh Lemon Verbena soap...
I also brought in juicy Pink Grapefruit, Patchouli
and Chanel...
so come on out to the farm and enjoy the Autumn,
see ya soon!

The fingerprint of Autumn...

As trees slowly become aware of what's in the air...
Autumn is such a beautiful time up North
Amish boys enjoying a ride while the air is still warm,
what a shot, love the lone orange tree...sigh...

Isn't this just the cutest chair I just dragged in to Sisters'...
sans the rats, however, sales of rats were a high...
go figure!!!
What's the Halloween season without rats n bats...!

Huge Iowa fans up in that neck o the woods, so Piper added
a touch with her Hawkeye candles
and a birdhouse...too cute!!!

Erika and Elaine had great bones in their space...
literally...
Scratchy shows her approval on this particular one...
note tongue...ha!

In spite of the rains all day Saturday,
Sisters' open house was grand
and sales were great...
so on to the next page, hmmmmm...
more ratz n batz perhaps!!!

Can one dream in French...

Well, at least one can try...a trip to Sisters' Yesterday certainly makes one think so...
this is what it's all about isn't it...

I read a post on another blog yesterday asking a man how he would describe a perfect woman...
and it all boiled down to the boobs, the butt and the beauty...

ask a woman and she would reply...

a woman who can...
juggle laundry and clean house,
drive to soccer and cheer leading practice,
dentist and doctor appointments,
three squares a day(plus baking treats)
walk the dog
clean the litter pan
feed the chickens(optional)
work 8 at a meaningless job
dinner by 6:00
baths and jammies on
and popcorn and Cool Aid
tucked all in
and ready to praise the Universe
then start it all over
tomorrow...

this is the perfect woman
in our world...
then it's time to dream of redoing our nests
to make a home a home
in a woman's eye!

...gay men are the exception...
you get it!!!

Photo shoots...and saying goodbye...

Ki Nassauer of 'Junk Camp fame, dropped by Sister's Garden yesterday to check out the shop...what a hoot...and you thought we were just a nobody lil' ol' shop somewhere in Iowa...sometimes you just have to give out the information...Iowa...the lost continent is found...

In this shot we are saying a fond farewell to the 'to die for' glider, as it will be living in Minnesota with Ki...lucky girl...Barb and Ki clinch the deal...you know Ki, that was supposed to go on my porch...

Now there's a crew of trash pickers if I ever did see one Jane and Sara are partners in crime with Ki, having just raced here after the What Cheer flea market, fun was had by all, as the intrepid junkers oooooed and ahhhhed their way through the shops...full truck and bags they're on the road again...who knows where they'll strike next, long way back to Minnesota!

As Billy Bob rides in the back seat enjoying he/her mint julip...ahhh...life on the trail...hope you got your brakes fixed girls...

Come to Iowa and see the hidden treasures that abound in the serene countryside of the lost continent...IOWA...

Iowa, the new Texas...
