Shadow Shot Sunday...Look into my eye...

It's All Hallows' Eve
let us wander the night
little children beware
of this horrible sight

Bodies of babies wander in fear
decapitated charmers
of your belov'd dear
don't seek the night nor the field
of the farmers

Beware of the of the red light
that glows in the shadow
on this wicked night
the eyes of the babies lost in the hollow

If it's fun that you seek
then look to down under
go to Harriets' freaks
where the goblins all wonder

Why babies with no head
play this horrible game
it's all in fun on the night of the dead
or maybe for profit...is there no shame

Heehee...Baby heads for sale...

OK, that was shameless advertising,
but what a great time of year to do it,
'Cracked in the Head' nightlights delight all year long,
as do the games at Harriets' down under...
come play our shadow games, we're waiting!

Have you ever had...

Buyers' remorse...
you know, when you go buy new tires for your truck/car
and when all is said and done, the mechanic
brings you that dreaded list of parts that drastically
need replaced or your truck/car will fall apart.
WHAT ARE THEY THINKING!!!
$500.00 for new tires,
then they hit ya with ball joints, shocks, alignments
AND LABOR...$1114.58...!
Is someone smoking crack here...!
Talk about guilt...
I got a second opinion!
$600.00(cough, cough) from my trusted mechanic
and my truck is good to go...my bank account,
however is in remorse or should I say recession!

However...the eternal optimist in me has had a change of seasonal heart,
I'm cutting back,
a sense of freedom and a new look into my creative soul...
I had my cable tv disconnected.
$70.00 a month and I maybe watch 3 hours in the evening,
then most of that time is spent asleep because THAT CHAIR
sucks the life out of me, know what I mean.
When you only watch a few bits of programing and
the rest is reality crap...the point would be...!

So, now my new BFF is my PC, a good bright light
and NETFLIX...
why did it take so long!

Anybody wanna buy a 'Cracked in the Head' nightlight...heehee!

Just in case...

...you were wonderin' what me and Scratch are up too...
I've opened my other blog Sweet Repose Iowa
It will be the photo journal of the new happenings at the shop
and how it will evolve through my projects.

As Autumn settles in, things slow down and I move
all my paint back into the studio in my house.
But at least I'll have a nice dry place to stash the furniture
till the time comes to move it out.

So check out the other blog, the new playlist is TO DIE FOR!
And settle in to a new season...sigh again!

Shadow Shot Sunday...Certain Freedoms...

Kentucky Creeper...
Isn't it beautiful crawling up my pink siding...
most men would say pull it out,
as my Dad did last year,
however, it prevailed to bloom another year...

Yes, I know, I know,
all the stuff about it getting into the wood causing problems,
but what of a moment's freedom,
to see the beauty in one of Nature's 'WEEDS'...

Not a weed to me...in Autumn
it glows a fiery scarlet and blends wonderfully
on a pink palace wall...

I don't ask much of the world, only be left to my own device...
to live and breathe free
in my own little paradise....IOWA...
Home Sweet Home!

It's SHADOW TIME again...let's have some fun...
IT'S FREE!!!

Thanks Tracie!!!

Puppy love...

Nuthin' quite like the love of a girl and her dog...not to mention her sheep...
Scratchy goes everywhere with me, weather permitting.
It's really the eyes that seal the deal
and she knows it...puppy eyes...awwww...

What's not to love here...

Just look at that face(somewhere)...
she just oozes with awwww...

Well, most of the time...
but what a hoot is my lil' heathen,
ya gotta love a terrier,
short for trouble!

"I lost a toof"...
must've been that pesky toy that looks like a rat...
rrrrrrrr...

The domino effect...

I have four locations that I sell furniture out of,
The Candle Shed, Sisters' Garden, Grasshoppers and me...
so when I move each piece to a different location,
the games begin at me, the rearranging!

It means my lil' studio du artifacts gets a face lift
or when I finish a piece, it gets moved in...

Lorie and I have this great old fainting couch
that was in need of some repairs...soooo...
down to 'the garage',
then it gets displayed at The Junk Revival,
my mini-shop,
until a new home is calculated
or it's sold...sweet!
It's maroon mohair fabric is aglow in the sunshine.

Let me tell ya about this old rocker...
someone, back in the day, recovered it in the most godawful
kelly green velvet fabric...sooooo...
what ta do, what ta do...

I painted the whole thing flat white,
even the fabric.
It's now a minty green.
It needs reupholstering and new stuffing, but for $20.00,
this curbside project could be yours,
but in the meantime, it takes up residence in the shop
and I think it fits quite nice.

Ahhhh, sweet sunshine and textures...

and another project in the works...
did I mention it's SWEET having a garage!!!
