Why I do what I do...

 Display...
that's the fun part of the job
and why I love Sisters' Garden and Bloom...

The fun never ends...the displays never end...

A new beginning for Candle Shed Effect,
as shelves are filled with luscious scents...

and many more to come...many match
the soap scents, with more of them to come
as well...

 Still luvin' me some whites...

 Cute lil' country setting...
love the color combos!

 Fresh Lavender Essential oil,
soap and 'Hot Hunks'...

Tah dah...I'm pooped...

 Isn't this just the cutest...
I picked up this great Eastlake chest
up at the Junk Asylum on Sunday,
knowing full well what I was going
to do with it...yup, pink!
It took me ALL DAY to get it
painted and I finished just 5 minutes
 before it started to rain.
I have a darling little fern stand
that is getting painted pink too and
a couple of frames that are totally
pinkalicious...
I am sooo not a pink person, but
 this was meant to be!

This is the before, the guy I bought
it from is going to freak,
right Bob...now if it was going
in my house I would leave it as is...
but...
this is going to Sister's Garden
Wednesday afternoon.
So if your lil' girl is a princess,
this would be perfect...
price $349.00,
see ya at Sisters'...
also the soy bricks will be there too
for all your tart warmers.

 NOPE...

 NOPE...

YUPP...
I'm playing nice in my own yard!
I've worked for so many years on Saturdays,
it's time I stayed home and played
with my own toys...
stuff has just been thrown in and piled on,
it's just time for some reorganization...
right!
So I'm watering and weeding and
rearrangin'...
fun huh!!!

will be selling the 'Hot Hunks'
at Sister's Garden...
yayyyyyy!!!
So check us out and see all the great
new scents we'll be sharing with the

Thar be fruits...

My baby broccoli and it's been so cold at
night I think maybe it's had an effect on
the cabbage worms...I'm not deluding
myself though, they'll be here...

Cukes are doing well, they'll be plenty for
my green smoothies...

snow peas are about 2 feet tall now,
I graze on them every morning when they
start to fruit, yumm, peas for breaky...
of course now I'll have to wash the fallout
off of them first...
is that a crazy thought or what!!!

We could really use some heat, but
the turnips look great and a second
planting of beets is on the agenda. Had to
plant more beans in the empty spots,
but they're all up as well

Now I'm gonna make all you gardeners cringe...
hee hee...
I struggle every year with the creeping charlie
right, well, this year I gave up,
mostly out of curiosity and to my TOTAL
amazement, the strawberries are thriving.
My soil is sandy river bottom, so berries
are always sandy, not this year, they rest on
a mattress of Charlie...
but the cool thing I discovered is...
the robins don't see the berries because
they are under the blanket developing
perfectly...unscathed!!!
Now is that freaky or what
WHO KNEW
but I still have to keep it in check
 everywhere else...argh!

And thanks to everyone that responded to
yesterday's post, it is scary and we do have to
stick together...it's not just MY problem,
it's my brothers and sister's problem as well.
It's good to see so many of you aware,
there are so many ostrich out there
and those are the ones we'll bid farewell.
Be safe friends and be happy...
and munch on!

Is it a Red Dawn...

As you may have noticed I'm not
blogging much these days, after
a night's rest I awaken with a dark cloud
of dread hanging over me...
the world as we know it is coming to an end.

 This is an American...
we want the world to pass us by
as it always has, we continue to live
like we always have, but there are powers
in place now that should scare the
hell outta ya, the United States is being
taken over by foreign banking interests...
CHINA and others.
We have been sold out by our government.
Yes, I'm an alarmist, after being raised in the
cold war era, I'm a little touchy
these days, it still exists, only scarier!
You say, yes, it's always been this way,
sure it has, but not at this level of corruption.

The movie Red Dawn scared the hell
out of me when I was a teen...
as many Americans were building
bomb shelters and in the schools we were
taught to duck and hide in case
'the bomb' was dropped...
now I read that the remake had stopped
production to alter the bad guys...
it was a Chinese takeover of the U.S.,
but has been changed to the North Koreans.
China is buying our film industry and we are
 being reconditioned to love China...
NOT
Sorry to be an alarmist, but I encourage
everyone to start paying attention,
listen to Alex Jones (Prison Planet)
not Fox News...we are being held prisoner
by our corrupt government, we need
to wake up and see things as they really are.
We are in a police state now and
it's going to get a lot worse.
I will still be posting occasionally to my
blogs, but my facebook page is more current.
I keep hoping that when I wake up
from this bad dream, that all is well
in paradise...
but it's worse every day.
My world of antiquing is just not the same,
it holds no meaning anymore...
it's just one day at a time now,
sigh...

What the h......

My strawberry bed...notice red twine in circle...
as I was pulling tree seedlings out, I was
pulling them back to find strawberries...
SURPRISE...!

four li' tiny mouths popped open, what a
surprise, I've NEVER in all my years
of gardening had a nest in my strawberries...

so much for the natural predator decoy...
I researched and believe they are
field sparrows...sweet huh!!!
A day in the life!

Occupied...

Remember, I attached this old birdhouse
just the other day in the garden...well...

it took 2 days and a pair of Jenny wrens
now occupy it. Every morning while I sit
grooming dogs, I'm serenaded by their
melodic efforts.

 While working(playing) at The Asylum
Sunday, Lorie had decided to sell her
cute lil' table...well, my wild hair took over...
a perfect table to sit at with my morning java
to watch the wrens...

I love the mosaic top, and it's removable
in bad weather...now all I need is a cute lil chair,

so I can sit and watch the rose and iris bloom
and generally goof off...right...or contemplate
building a small deck out there...
MAKE IT STOP!!!

No comment from the peanut gallery...
please!!!

A day in the life...

When I bought my house 10 years ago,
there was just something about the shack
that called to me...it was totally
surrounded by purple iris, they are just
starting to bloom. I have spread them
all over around the house, plus many
other varieties that were found in ditches
from homesteads all over my
neck o the woods.

The girls love it when I get the grass
mowed, so many bugs, so little time!

There's just something warm and fuzzy
about fresh mowed grass...

Boy, you can really see the turnips now
and seven lil' buds of asparagus
have peeked through the ground...
sweet!

 I love late afternoon sunshine...

Putting the girls to bed...
and the end to a perfect day!

Geez it's fun outside...

Did I mention I love my post hole digger...
bought an old porch post at
The Junk Asylum the other day,
cause I had a plan...

and I had a bird house and a really
cool hook...isn't it cute...

I heart my old rose bush...

Tiny lil' rosebuds are all over the bush,
it survived all of the frosts to
bloom again...
I love summer!

It's about time...

 Coming home from the veterinarian
today, there was a sign on the road
that said...
ANTIQUES FOR SALE

Well, my truck has automatic pilot
when it comes to sales along the road...
I immediately was drawn to this clock,
the price was right...MINE!
And to my amazement, it works...
sweet!

 This old clock was screaming...
take me too, so I obliged...

Isn't it cute, I know nothing about it,
but primitive it is...

it must have sat in a barn for quite
some time, well worn and mysterious,
this old relic is going to The Asylum.
