When you believe...

you can make it happen...
a Victorianesque farm girl wannabe
will soon hear her song on the gentle breeze
the call of the cockadoodledoo,
the squawk of a newly laid
creamy brown egg,
the scratchin' and the peckin'
and the cockadoodledoo...
pinch me
am I really so blessed
yes, she believes so,
as plans move to fruition
the 'Hen Hilton'
will be delivered Thursday...
then the smiles begin as buttons of fluff
scurry to and fro in their new fancy digs...
my peeps...!
I haven't seen my creation yet, though
John the shed builder has with a chuckle...
guess the Amish haven't seen a new age coop before...!
And in my tradition of thinking
small is better, I've managed to have a 4x4 shed(coop)
built for my tiny flock,
does that make me a 'flocker'...
yes, a chicken flocker AND
I'll wear the badge proud!

So pictures are a comin, from start to finish,
as my rough vision moves on to the
Palace of Peeps...they will be proud...
stay tuned!!!

Don't know 'bout you, but I'm concerned...

(NaturalNews) The battle to save the Fukushima nuclear power plant now appears lost as the radioactive core from Reactor No. 2 has melted through the containment vessel and dropped into the concrete basement of the reactor structure. This is "raising fears of a major release of radiation at the site," reports The Guardian, which broke the story (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/201...). A former General Electric nuclear expert told The Guardian that Japan appears to have "lost the race" to save the reactor.

The only feasible interpretation from this analysis is that radiation emissions from Fukushima could suddenly become much greater. It is also now obvious that the radioactive fallout from Fukushima will last for decades, if not centuries.

Japan's Prime Minister Naoto Kan last night admitted the situation at Fukushima remains "unpredictable." Meanwhile, the presence of plutonium in soil samples is proof that the nuclear fuel rods have been compromised and are releasing material into the open atmosphere. But don't worry (and don't prepare)

Last light...of March...

Barren...a moonscape of dried floral,
once green and lush...the view from the shop door...
land awaiting life...!
Been so windy, my gazing ball won't stay on it's perch.

Lily of the Valley awaits in this small space,
the sun tries in vain to spread it's scent...

HAY...
yes indeed, it spreads it's carpet of sweet grassy notes
on the floor of A Wild Thing
a perfect fit!

If it wasn't so damned cold outside,
I'd be out foraging for sticks and stones,
I know all you Northerners know what I'm talkin' about...
we're over it and want some heat!!!

French street brooms linger, casting shadows and
awaiting a warm Spring day to fulfill their tour...

and a new project stands scornfully erect,
as it knows it's time is near...

What ta do, what ta do...as snow flurries

settle on Scratchy's nose this morrow...
dreary March death throws...!

Is it Spring yet...?

HAY...!

Do you remember a long time ago in Victoria magazine,
there was a shop called WILD CHILD...
the article showed her and her 3 children on first page,
then showed her darling woodsy shop...
I'll never forget the floor was littered with straw
and pine needles and rocks...
I've never abandoned that wonderful landscape
for a shop!

So upstairs at Sisters', I've taken the idea out from the trunk
and again used it for display...

Again, not at the mercy of tradition,
the term quirky appears again...

Just something Earthy about it, don't you think...

Always setting and accepting trends,
all of us at Sisters' Garden never let tradition slow us down.
We're always thinking and experimenting...

and ready to take the next plunge...
thanks Brent(Barbs' husband)
for scouring the barn for hay...
for this crazy WILD CHILD...!

Shadow Shot ...Out to lunch...

Re-purpose...

Re-purpose...

Re-purpose...

There is no housing shortage at the residence of the Wild Thing,
homes abound, you just need a little imagination
and the residents don't mind, they aren't trying
to keep up with those Joneses, they're just doing there job...
and the air fills with the joyous sounds of Springtime,
well sorta, there's a lot to be said about March winds...
WE DON"T LIKE THEM...brrrrrrr...!
But soon we'll be whining about the heat and life will
march on as usual...sorta like our famous Shadow Shots
check us out, we're cool!!!

Call me quirky...

Hmmmmm...quirky huh...
Well, when you want to stand out in a very large crowd...
you become 'QUIRKY'...right?!
Well, I had all these fun frames and some REALLY
fun photos...sooo...

Combine them and this is what you get...QUIRK!!!

Can you ever have enough fun at this game...

NOT...
what were the parents of this lil' Victorian boy thinking...
ahhh, isn't he cute dressing up like mommy...

NOT SO MUCH...talk about issues...

Then there's these two love birds...
and can you tell me please,
WHAT IS NORMAL!

and as a side note...
this blog supports gay marraige!
After all, who are we to judge!

My better half...

I've exhibited half-hearted attempts at fame,
like Siamese twins, I'm wary
not wanting to part with half of me
knowing half will change
half not
effecting what I call normal, as
my affection for normal may mislead.
I'm aloof,
I prefer to walk alone, studying each step
at a distance, yet still in line of sight.
The allure is there still, yet
the attempts allude...
all told, I really don't give a damn,
to just frequent those half-hearted
thoughts occasionally makes me clever(er)
than I was the step before...
I like it that way, you know,
no stress,
to be really real and just know
that I did my best...
and you will say,
I once knew a wild thing!

I love it when I take a day off...it means I stay up all night,
maybe have a glass of wine(or two)
or coffee...whatever it takes...
a gazillion projects waft through my brain
and get finished in the morrow...
no worries, nothing to break my stride
and a power nap in the afternoon is not out of the question!
But what my definition of a day off is, not having
to groom dogs...my day job...ya know...
I'll still work like a dog all day long doing what I love!
Now that's what I'm talkin' about!

Time to soar...

You could call it a soul cleansing,
as I begin to spread my wings into a new world
of sales and life changes...
an Etsy store evolves into a new venue of
traffic online, new friends, new cash flow, new beginnings!
My blogs will also be transformed
to suit my new avenues...

More jewelry to be created...
I found these great lil' baby head charms
up at The Junk Asylum the other day and got to thinking...
perfect to go 'long side my Cracked in the Head nightlights.
Cute huh...they can be purchased for $15.00
on my Etsy store, just click my Etsy button on my side bar...
easy peasy!

I'm going to start posting furniture as well on Etsy,
I believe it will attract another group of friends to our locations...
Friends Candle Shed, Sisters' Garden and me,
A Wild Thing...

I'm going to set up a small space in front of my brightest window
in the studio where I can work on my art...

and pull those gentle creatures from my heart to the paper
and on to you...

Each new piece painted will be posted on Etsy
and a location where to find them...

new and old will all be found at one of the three locations...
just ask and you will receive.

as Spring opens new doors and adventures for this
Wild Thing...

How Robin Brown saved my life...

And I thought it was just me...

Boy, can I identify with this...I used to have this really cute
cottagy kitchen, all organized...you could actually
cook in there and eat at the table...with 4 chairs...
and dishes that matched...
you could get the refrigerator door opened all the way,
what a novel idea!

Then I started my soap biz...that TOTALLY consumed
it's cottage charm...

The washer/dryer is now a work space, cute lil' cupboards
are filled with scent and tools of the trade...

another cupboard had to be dragged in to harbor
the growing candle biz, orders are starting to fill my
tiny tack board...

Yet, I still manage to keep bits of it's charm,
though you have to strain to see them, but...
who wouldn't want to work this way, up in the morning,
as soon as the rooster crows, still in jammies, first cuppa Joe,
then it's get to work filling the house full of exotic scents...
paradise to this country girl...
and at age 61 and counting,
I acknowledge that age is only a number,
life...well, that's the next chapter...thanks Robin!
And thanks TOT for the magazine...
I luv u girlz!!!

I too will never close the door on my working life...

The Wild Thing...an Etsy store...OPEN...

Yes, my lil' rabbit hole is now open for biz...
I had my first official customer yesterday to kick off sales
in my lil' piece of paradise...Barb...(and Brent)
my buds from Sisters' Garden.
She was my first shopper and totally made a mess
of everything...isn't it GRAND when that happens!!!
This is what us dealers live for...staging the vignettes!

She also got to sniff some of the new scents that I will be
bringing to Sisters and what will be offered on
my Etsy store online...

This truly is what it's all about in my world...
my stage into the imagination...

as the view into Springtime rings true at...
The Wild Thing...
stay tuned!
