Shadow Shot...stuff of schemes...

Tools of a trade, the junk, the chippy old relics that would
be squirreled away for purpose of another time...
old door latches sitting in a brief moment of soliel...
THE SUN!
Rare in the springtime of the Nor'lunds,
as Nature tries to decide which to choose...
hot or cold!

The beast approaches...will it be rain or snow or...
the dreaded mix...ice!!!
Well, we got it all...very cold today in Iowa!
So let's head to Harrietville, where we know it's warm!

Love the intricate designs of the door latches.

Snow, ice, wintry mix? Yuck to all of them. I'm just hoping for an early spring here in Connecticut, as I'm sure you are as well.

Happy shadow seeking! I'm trying to get back into this fun meme!

Sharon you're a girl after my own heart. these are delicious finds that give off happy shadows never mind what the weather. I awoke to snow this morning but it doesn't bother me because I know that soon spring will win out and that's what I'm waiting for. it's the best. thanks for the Adam Lambert tune. I love that one. happy SSS and have a beautiful week. stay warm.

These door handles arrive from a far different era. Heavy in actual feel, the scrollwork on each brass handle add a sense of lightness to the device. Elegant and built to last - that's as far from 'junk' than we can imagine. Lovely finds!

this is what I do on Saturday mornings. I visit you and then leave this window open so that I can listen to your tunes and shadow hop. thanks for d-j-ing Sharon.

more than your photos and words today...which i loved!!! I LOVE the fact that you have Adam Lambert on your song list. i loved it when he sang this song. you made me smile first thing this morning, when the music started playing!!!!

if you read my post...winter is still here. ice and snow. i didn't get a chance to take a picture of our hill leading to the house or our driveway as we got home late last night...but driving on the road, in the dark, was a crazy nightmare. i felt myself sliding at times...praying myself along the mile and a half stretch...knowing that the dreaded hill was ahead...then praying myself up the driveway...which took me several attempts. now, today, several inches of snow cover that ice.

morning coffee, morning coffee, morning coffee...thank goodness for morning coffee!!! hope you have a great day at the shop sis. i will see you soon!!

It is cold here in Iowa today. Yesterday was 65. Today is 32.
Yep, March in Iowa. Snow flurries, thunderstorms, puddles of mud, birds heading north, birds coming back, hard freezes and flowers blooming. Gotta love it!
I am loving the architectural impact of these door latch facings. Just beautiful!

Muscatine is just a hop, skip and jump from here. Occasionally, we come over to the Goodwill there.

There's one thing all of us Iowans can talk about...the changing seasons. I am looking forward to longer shadows!

Yes, at HEY HARRIET is is decidedly warm but further south where we are, autumn arrived more than a week ago. Our heaters are on in the evening and the three layered look is in for outdoors. The middle of the day is still pleasant in the sunshine providing the wind abates.

Nice pre=loved handles, they do come in handy and those oldies are so charming.

Enjoy your wek my dear.

Have a great week in Iowa, Spring is just around the corner, we are having very Autumnal weather here in NZ at present.

Wonderful designs on those door features! And love the moodiness of the scene in the last photo!

My week is getting more frantic now that testing time has arrived! Still pacing myself as best I can! I sacrifice lunch-time freedom at school to keep my weekends free! So far, eating on the run and/or marking while I eat is working!

And today it was worth it all! A sunny autumn day and I revelled in a 3 hour walk at Red Hill! I was in heaven enjoying the scents of fresh air and the rolling countryside!

Wonderful hearing about the dog for your daughter! You sound very happy too that she has a found a friend! Great for both of you! And always meant to tell you how much I love your daughter's name! It sounds so bubbly with a touch of literary whimsy! Gorgeous!

So onward and upward dearest friend! We have have another week's challenge ahead waiting for us in the ring! Think champion! be champion!

Supreme warmest HUGS from the land downunder!
