I played out in the shop/studio all day Sunday and
had to keep reminding myself that it's still March...
brrrrrr...my fingers froze, even inside.
The long Johns and woolly socks were a must, as well as
a heavy coat n mittens, however...
By noon on Monday I was out painting and rearranging!
While waiting for the sun to warm things up,
I took a stroll on the 6 acres to pick up trash blown in
by the feisty March winds.
My tiny acreage, is my own personal wildlife refuge...
I've let the cedar trees grow tall and the scrub trees stand,
as they are food for the bunny's when winter is at it's worst,
they eat the bark, which normally kills the tree,
which is a good thing, because they're Chinese elm
AND A PAIN!!!
Many varieties of prairie grasses and flowers grow here as well,
but the prize for the day was this 8 point rack
found in the thicket, how it got there is still a mystery,
because only a few leg bones and vertebra were left,
no hide at all...hmmmm...
So, tomorrow is another day in the shop,
I didn't realize what a mess winter had made inside, but
I'm totally rearranging and painting some new stuff
and should be open for biz by the first of April...
can one have too much fun???
