Shadow Shot Sunday...cottage charm...

Red sky at night,
sailor's delight...
red sky at morning,
sailor take warning!

A brilliant scarlet morning greeted me and my
cup a Joe this morning, as storms loom on the horizon.
We again need the rain, so I won't complain...
I'm just luxuriating in a warm Spring morning,
gentle breezes blowing through my cottage windows...
is it finally here...this Springtime...?

Relic shadows...
again, glimpses of my trophy, a yard ornament
of antiquity, not good for much else,
since the wheels are missing...

Bits of the harness still reside on the floor,
casting shadows of what once was.

'twill soon be repurposed as a trellis...
can't you just see a fringed surrey top of minute
white buds covering it like an Easter bonnet...
me too and perfect for my lil' farm!

Again I apologize to all my old friends
for not getting back to you for comments on our
Shadow Shot Sunday...
but my days are now a blur of yard maintenance
and rushing to fill the stores with inventory...
just know that I think of you all
and hope you have a wonderful weekend of
PEACE!

Great shadow shots for the day, Sharon, as always, but I particularly LOVE that old buggy! And, yes, what a terrific planter it would make! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I love the sounds of the roosters crowing on your playlist! And, yes, it is the time of the year to get the incessant yard work done, let alone trying to run a business!
Love, love, love that jar!!!

The carriage is amazing!! Can't wait to see it crawling with vines.

Finally able to take a breath after a few weeks at a breakneck pace. Not much antiquing and tending my space, just not enough time in the day.

Glad to hear it's finally spring up your way! It's been a cool, rainy one in KC and the plants are loving it!!

Hugs!

I like the view through the wine jug - an old bottle with old glass adds a neat wavy perspective of the outdoors...

The buggy/carriage is so cool. Too bad about the wheels, but this was a fine ride, the limo of its day. The collection outside the shop is a neat as that inside!

I have missed a lot of shadow shot Sundays recently, and even when I have made it I have not had time to visit many people. I have missed your amazing yard and finds-that carriage is great! Here we say shepherd's not sailors-though maybe people who live near the sea do!

If only that carriage could speak. The tales it could tell! And now, to be able to be the trelis for a new batch of life! I look forward to seeing it in SSS decked out in flowers later on. Happy SSS.

Fantastic shadow shots, and that buggy, what stories it could tell, it looks amazing. Can't wait to see what you do with it in your garden.

Love the nostalgic aura in these photos! Enchanting!

I expected you to be farming wild things, so no worries about visiting! My excuse for not posting or visiting as much as usual is the pain in my broken arm and constantly feeling sick! Everything's difficult! About all I can do is type with one hand! Have to work hard at not getting depressed! But reading others' activities always helps!

Strange weather here with lots of warm Autumn rain! Some amazing skies in the morning! At least I can take photos from my verandah with one hand!

Enjoy your Spring journeys dear friend! BIGGEST HUGS!

You always find the neatest things to take pictures of, and they are always so great. I too love the old buggy.
As for the saying at the begining I grew up hearing it as:
Red in the morning,
Shepard take warning.
Red at night,
Shepard's delight.

incredible post..love the buggy trellis idea.

I can relate to the yard work thing, it's not something I ask my hubby to do since he works so hard all week.
But I don't mind since I like working in the yard myself.

Have a nice week and keep those cool shots coming!

I'm sure the surrey will be resurrected under your magic touch!

MY BLINGLESS SHADOW

A shadow’s an odd sort of thing;
It might have a nose or a wing,
A tail like a dog,
A bump like a log,
But one thing it has not is bling!
