Shadow Shot Sunday...won't you sit a spell...

The most fun thing about owning an antique biz,
is being able to bring home some new toys...
if it's been there a while, you can bring it home
and play with it here...fun huh!!!

This bench was heading to Sisters' Garden,
but it looked so cute here where I temporarily sat it,
that I decided it needed to sit a spell...
and especially since the chippy, burgundy paint on it
matched the color of the redbud tree...sweet!

The gardens at the pink shack are really starting to bloom,
FINALLY...
the bird houses all have tenants, the veggies are planted
and I even splurged and bought an apple tree,
I now have plums, apricots and a sweet Jonathan,
this was my Granny's fave, YUMMM,
for apple pies and applesauce, it even has beautiful
pick blossoms...oh, I'm a lucky girl...
as Spring is finally here, the birds are singing,
the sun is shining...
AND...
it's Shadow Shot Sunday...!

Even with the peeling paint, that bench calls out to me: "Rest your weary self; my shadows and I invite you to be still."

I HAD A LITTLE SHADOW
(With apologies to Mother Goose)

I had a little shadow
No bigger than my thumb;
I took him to the meadow
And there I gave him rum.

My drunken little shadow
Did weave and bob and pitch;
He stumbled from the meadow
And fell into a ditch!

The bench sits in the shade, as the hot Iowan sun will be there in the summer - not too far away. Tho cool off on this classic bench under agreat shadow, a relaxing feel will wash over,,,nice!

Cheery SSS pics and even cheerier words. Seems like Spring has flipped a 'happy switch' in you! Have a great weekend. Yes, nuff said!!

What a cheery post. I can almost hear the birds singing in the background.

Jonathans were my favorites too, until Honeycrisps came along.

A gorgeous, bubbly post! Adore the colour of that bench! So glad that Spring has arrived for you!

My comment will be shorter today because I have a broken right arm and the whole right side of my body is jarred. I tripped over the slightly raised metal edge of a running track at the school athletics carnival last Friday!

Yesterday, I slept nearly all day!

Now I am propped up in bed doing this!

I will be away from school for 2 weeks at this stage!

Enjoy your Spring weekend! SUPER HUGS!

You sound like you're singing too! Your words just sing with Springtime happiness. I love the bench. Have you seen This One?
It would be fun to keep and use all the antique stuff, you are a lucky gal.

your yard looks so lovely and the bench is in the perfect spot for sitting a spell. I can't believe your redbud is flowering, it's beautiful. I think it's been warmer there than here, but it always is the farther west you go. you are so ahead of me on the garden, I haven't planted a thing, but I started thinking about! I hope you have a great week Sharon.
