Shadow Shot Sunday...Winter Shadows...

Bleak and desperate...

brilliantly subtle...

glistening wanderings in...

gossamer shadows...

first snow
mute...

Hey Harriet...
what you see is what you don't get...
SHADOWS!
First snow, it could stay like this all Winter,
if you ask me,
however, 4 feet of snow in New York,
stranded travelers,
downed power lines,
black ice, is more of what's the norm.
I'll take it in stride, as Winter just dusts my world...
happy shadow shootin'
and good luck Northun'rs...!

your studio looks peaceful and quaint as the backdrop for the snow. agreed...if it would only stay that way vs. the 4 foot or more of the stuff we know we'll get. all of your photos are beautiful. the shop is looking great!!!!!

coffee is on.

Lovely shots. And if it makes you feel better, San Francisco is pretty much a shadow-free zone today...

The cold weather exists outside. Yet the interior is full of enough warming light to leave seasonal shadows. Any stylish detail leaves an artistic shadow, and tho' it be cold on the exterior, the interior feels quite cozy here...

I wish I could visit and buy some of your gorgeous goodies (and you have less snow than us - 18 inches at the last measure!!)

That's nothing, Lady S! compare to mine and it's been awhile now? Damn, snow... §;-)

I came home from work yesterday, Friday, I saw the snow on the entrance & I was thinking to help GH shovelling as he was working till 1.30pm. Today, I barely can get up from my bed. Uschhh...

What a great shadows, although it's subtle. We, true blood shadow cheasers could shot shadows in different angles and different tones, right?

FAB as always.

Take care overthere and always keep warm.

The soft tones in the first photo are very beautiful! Gorgeous collection of treasures in these photos!

At lasst marking and reports are over! Yah!!!!!!! Just one more week of school! Yah!!!!!!!!!!! Yes! I'm a bit excited!

I must admit, I am looking forward to Tuesday! We have activity days now for the students and teachers are invited to do something totally different from their teaching area!

I am running a JAM session for budding musicians. They have to create a piece of music, perform and record it by the end of the day! The students get the opportunity to maybe join a band/group that they may not have known about! It's a bit loud on the ears but I so love it!

Today is sunny with a cool breeze! I taste summer at last! Awesome!

Have a great week dearest friend! I think of you so much! SUPER HUGS!

I had to raid my archives for a shadow shot so I know exactly how you're feeling. Where is that old sun, anyway? Why is it hiding?

I love the quaint and peaceful feeling in these photos. We're getting our first serious snowfall over the course of the next few days. If I didn't have to drive in it, I'd love it.

Sounds like some people are experiencing some severe snow fall (is that what it's even called...snow fall?) and it's making me cold just reading about it! I love your photos! Especially the last one and the one of your sweet looking handmade soaps! I hope you have a nice big supply of hot chocolate to see you through. Have a great week :)

Cool shots!
Boy I do know how you feel.
It's been snowing in Finland last couple of days (not heavily but enough) and I'm still sick...only way to get better is to stay in bed - most of the time.
Have a good week ahead!

OUTSIDE THE WINDOW

Outside the window
Frost-fingers wait to snatch at your hair;
Go out, if you dare—
Or stay here with me,
Sipping hot tea,
Warming your bones,
Remembering when you were young and
The window was nothing,
The cold even less.
With warmth in your fingers and
Strength in your bones, arise,
Brush your hair, smooth your dress,
And peer out the window.

Oh how these girls would love to take a road trip! The shop looks wonderful (we got a kick out of your 'sick' necklace below!!!) Love that first shot of the trees through the screen...and nice backdrop for those candles!
The first snow - we are with you...the muck that comes after that - we could do without as well :) but that is not for us to decide, hee hee hee! Stay warm yourself Sharon!!

this will be a hard winter. As you I don´t like it. And it is boring after a while. Every shot you take is white. ;(
