American Peckers...

This is what free range chickens do when they are playing outside...
they peak into the house to see whassup...

This is what they do when incarcerated...

You throw in a slice of hay/straw and they start scratchin' & peckin'...

Ahhhhh...free again...I'll watch out for that pesky hawk mum...
just another day at the ranch.

Catch title and I love chickens, the henny penny's if you will.

In another life I lived in Muscatine for about a year. First real snow I experienced being from Florida.

Great blog, I just found you and will be looking around so more.

I've got four hens Sharon and they are little turds!!!!! I let them free range in our fenced in back yard which is a good size but those girls just HAVE to escape!!! Every day one of those hags has to jump on the back porch railing and jump over the fence! Then when I go to feed the other girls back there, the one that's out just screams and clucks! I'll open the gate and the stray will waddle back in! Thank goodness for the rain lately that has dissolved the chicken pies everywhere :) xxoo, Dawn
