Remember the brightly painted walls...now when you walk in the front door, it's 'WHITE'...we left the room straight ahead, a parlor of sorts, it's pale celery green, because green is a calming color and pulls the summer inside forever, even when the snows are flying...ewwwww...I can't believe I just said that!!!
The' mud room', is our garden room...the owners of the house Kathy and Bill Zeller, who also own the wonderful antique shops up the street...have added so many charming touches to this sweet lil' abode, like the screen doors and the shutters on the inside of the windows, but this will be our only white room...we have a special look for the bedrooms upstairs, we haven't even begun up there...so you'll have to wait on that one...keeps you on yer toes...
Hey Nanc...it's Norbie...in case you're wondering...I purchased the well-worn pheasant mount from my dear friend Nancy of 'The Attic' out yonder in California...we joke about Norbie all the time, he acquired his name from Nancy and fam and it just stuck...Lorie hates taxidermy...that's why he's here as mascot...she'll get me for that one...maybe a cupid will appear...argh...(she knows I hate them)
Yummy soy candles fill the ol' coffee tins in the kitchen, filling the air with the scent of fresh-brewed coffee...
The kitchen area is far from finished, we don't even have the counter set up yet, but that will come on Friday, so we'll be ready for Saturday's city-wide yard-sales and farmer's market...
This wonderful garden room has walls of lathe, giving it the perfect palette for a shop like ours...everything blends right in, Jan you will love it, as French soaps fill the air with fragrant scents of flowers and 'cracked in the head' nightlights add whimsy to this special place...
More pics on the tilt...this is for you Tilda...the reason they tilt is because I get more stuff in the pic, it gives it the height, rather than doing a side angle with the camera and losing the width...and no straw on the beautiful wood floors, we are actually going to sweep them(once in a while)...
It was 10:00 last night when Lorie and I were about to leave, when she said, what about pictures...so...as the projects progress into next week, there will be more...trust me...
Many events are in the planning stages to make Palo a destination stop, like vintage automobiles(cars) and live street music on our Wednesday evening shop late nights...you'll have to check us out!
As the music of Mae West invites you in to this sweet lil' abode...why don't cha come up and see us some time...
