Restless...

Like the dove, I'm ready to take flight into a season
soon here...
I want to say 'good morrow' to the light
and never close the door.

I am so ready for Spring...
The first thing on my agenda is to paint my bedroom white!
It's been yellow for 5 years now, though a soothing color of perpetual Spring,
I want it neutral...a place of pure, fresh harmony...
then to work on my upstairs studio(my closet)...
this is the room that harbors all of my fabrics and trimmings for the lampshades
that I rarely have time to work on...it's also the room that has become my closet.
These small, old farm homes don't have much storage, no closets, just the attic
and that is where all the clutter survives...and heartily, I must admit!
But my bedroom is in the front portion of the attic,
with a rustic old door that shelters from the noise of the 4-lane
to the rear of the house.

Yet I'm restless for the outdoors...
natural earth colors, harmony in Nature, I want to bring it all inside.
Open the windows and just breathe, with eyes closed, all that
I dreamed of in a long Winter's sleep.

I want to walk into the woodlands and surround myself with the leftovers,
the bits of Nature that shed beauty in all the shapes and textures...

I want to open the doors and let in the light,
turn off the furnace and rearrange and makeover and reuse what is there
to pull out another me that was at rest during a season of waiting...

Play on the porches of my desires, a woodland sprite, I am
always drawn to these places of sanctuary...
seeking the beauty of the natural in textures and tones,
reflections of harmony in my little world,
I flee to the other world of summer and wallow in all that beauty to behold...

and weave my world around it and create beauty
in one form or another...you must open your eyes to all that once was,
the wonder is there...
in the blink of your childlike eye!

Wow...incredible photos and stupendous post. I especially like the very last photo with the webs in the sunlight, filtering through the window.

Oh, and if you want spring...just come on down. We had 80 degrees here yesterday with a most gentle of sea breezes.

NESTING HERON at paradise ponds in today's post.

Thanks for coming by to say howdy this past Sunday!!

Exquisite.
My first daffodil bloomed yesterday and I saw a robin and my woodpecker. Spring can't be far behind.

woa, that's some beautiful writing. and photos too, I love that rusty urn with the rusty-colored bird. very nice. we just got more snow; actually it's been snowing for 24 hours at least, but fine and not accumulating all that much. I'm not going to let it get to me. I'm going to think it's beautiful and pretend that I'll miss it when it's gone. and that I never ever want Winter to end. oh yeah.
I love that you play Moby, and I usually open your blog in a second window while I write my comment, just so it will keep on playing while I type. have a beautiful day Sharon!

Days like yesterday I think spring took a wrong turn somewhere, but I know it will get here. I have crocus on the west side of the house trying ever so hard to come up.
As always love your pictures and your prose

Hey, Tart. Love the inspiring photos. There is nothing like white and what a great backdrop that will make for your creative self! I can't wait to see what you do with it. Congrats on the Etsy shop! Your creations have wide appeal and as much as I enjoy my Cracked in the Head original Sharon Wilson creation, it makes me smile that these are shipping out to make others smile, too. I have a few things on Etsy and shipped a creepy doll to Canada not long ago, but I don't have much out there, it all goes to the antique mall. Have a great week!!!

I understand the ache you feel about spring. I have three flats of annuals in my green house that are just dying for me to get my hands on. HUGS MARY

spring is right around the corner. Love the pics. I've been busy with mom. (put her in the memory care unit at pioneer place in lone tree.)This is teaching me to have an exit strategy when i get like that.I'm not hanging around for life at the home.

I'm ready for spring too. Know all about those old houses and no storage. Our guest bedroom is the closet around here. Spring can't be too far away. At least according to the silly birds. I have a duck sitting on eggs now. Sure hope that March is not too cold if she manages to hatch any of the eggs. I'm thinking it's too cold for any of the eggs to hatch out but we will see.

Beautiful post Sharon! Love the photos and the wonderful writing you added to them. I completely get the yearning your feeling now. Do we feel this strong about spring every year? I can't seem to remember. The craving for spring feels more intense than I recall from the past......
