Shadow Shot Sunday...Do You See

do you see
the ripples
in the pools
of light,
brief torrents
wash sentiments
into fading
rings of life,
extinguished,
reality plucks
old promise
from round softened spheres
of looking glass mirrors
do you see
your future here...
these gazing globes
tell certain fears,
what if the rains
of golden years
were lost in moments
and shed as tears,
will rings of hope
reappear
do you see
me waiting here,
reflection in
a shaded
mirror.

My the weeks are flying by, wasn't it just yesterday we played SSS with friends...shadows this week were hard to come by, as rains again flood the rivers of Iowa, but if you believe in rainbows and light...a shadow follows...

It's Sunday in Australia you know...

I cannot believe it's Saturday already!! I would have forgotten to get my post up, I'm so glad you do it so early!!

I love this shot....it may not have a huge shadow, but like always the shot is great and the words you put with shot make an amazing impact!

The rain brought down most of our leaves yesterday...guess fall is quickly moving on!
Love your poem today Sharon...there is something very magical about a pool of water!

I really enjoyed your photo of the rain in the puddle. There is something very soothing to me about a rainy day, as long as it doesn't come every day.
Enjoy your day anyway...
the sunshine will come, I promise :D

The shadows appear to have a sheen on them, the reflective gray and rainy sky adding brilliance. Sorry about the rain, lately our DSL is acting strange on rainy days in Connecticut, like today. Nice capture, the rain can ad a natural beauty to anything!

Love your new fall banner & you captured a gorgeous SS--the rain just keeps a'fallin'--so glad it isn't "feet" of snow!

and lovely words as usual :)

Your words are always moving, great post.
We still have sun and I will make the most of it, rain will come and if not rain, unrelenting tule fog.

We must be having the same weather.
You got a good picture..I had to hunt in the house for my shadows.
Have a great week.
Happy SSS.

Looks very rainy on your side. It brought you a nice picture. But, forgive me, I prefer sunny shadows.

Great poem as usual. Wonder how you manage to rhyme so well.

Have a nice week!

The idea of "rings of life" and "rings of hope" is refreshingly beautiful and creative! The photo sugests that the whole scene here is shadowy because of limp light cast in monochrome tones.

Hope your journey in your new digs is travelling well. I have not been around too much this week because I have spent more hours at school. On Thursday, I was at school by 7:20am for a breakfast to farewell Year 12. The same night I attended the Valedictory Dinner for them and arrived home at 12:40 in the morning. Then still had to go to school that morning, so I was up at 5:30am. Very hectic! But enjoyable!

BIG HUGS dear sister!

Rain - what's that? Your gentle image brings back dim memories of wet days. Here in Brisbane we're back in drought mode, so we'd really appreciate it if you could bottle up all your spare drops of rain and send them over.

I just read your comment in another post that your ex-husband recently passed away. Please accept my deepest sympathy at your loss. I hope the pain soon passes.

Love the puddle/mirror idea

sort of like a magic portal in a fairy tale.

Yes, my 'shadow shots' were more about reflections
as it's overcast here...

It's been raining here all day so there aren't any shadows here either, sweet repose! Excellent shot! :)
