sometimes
we walk dark paths
unknowing
shaded by
inner doubt
and sorrow
what if
we strolled
into the light
of inner self
and saw
beauty
what if
down every lane
we walked
fearless of
shadowed corridors
awakened
we walked
in beauty again
awakened
we walk
in beauty again

You guessed it...SSS...go there for more creepy fun on this Halloween Day...everyone have a wonderful creeped out eve, as ghosts and goblins of Halloween past fly 'round your world...

walking with our eyes wide open...to see. really see the beauty...forgeting the darkness that sometimes lies within.
love the old cemetary and the shadow along the road. great photos!! awesome words.
coffee is on. i will see you soon.
Oh, i see we share the love for paths canopied by trees! There is something so wonderfully peaceful about them! Great job!
Beautiful...
Perfect for Halloween. I wouldn't trick or treat there though. Looks safe during the day :)
Lovely.
this is the perfect site and sight for the season.
The sunlight filtering through the shadows makes happy shadows. The B&W shadows, combined with the barren trees is more stark, and probably appropriate for this time before winter. Both shadows are beaytiful in different ways...
I noticed the shadows and then began reading the poem and then all of a sudden the color shot came into view - like an awakening.
Words and pictures meld together beautifully!
Cemetaries are filledwith shadows, aren't they? Thanks for sharing.
Marvelous captures and such wonderful words! Perfect for the season! It does look so very peaceful!
Enjoy!

I love the eeriness of these shadows - especially for Hallowe'en!
Lovely poem as well.
This is a lovely poem and the way you used the photo to illustrate it too. Happy Halloween!
What a surprise. On finishing your haunting verse, there was that beautiful second image - like walking into sunlight. Here in Australia Halloween was never such a huge tradition, but it's suddenly taken off in the last few years, sending us ageing population down to the supermarket to stock up on candy ammunition to throw at the little goblins who come calling.
What beautiful shadows..I enjoy visiting old cemetaries..something peaceful about them.
Actually that sounds silly..of course they are peaceful..
You are so right! We choose to see the light of beauty! It's all mood orientated and attitude driven! But often we are blind! We just dwell on the shadows!
Beautiful poem! And love the way it fades away with an echoing thought!
And your photos wrap beautifully around the poem ~ from greys to colours of the same walkway! But I must admit, I do find beauty in the grey tones too! They are subdued and quiet!
Sighhh...Just a little longer here and it's back to report writing! It's that time of year!
Happy weekend dearest sister! Warm hugs!
Your posts are always so moving. The emotions that come forth. The insight. The images that go with it.
How beautiful!
Stunning photo - I love tree lined paths - there's something very comforting about them.
...loved, loved, loved the cemetery photos and shadows. BUT was completely mesmorized by the music ( the queen..)

Wonderful post. You have a great gift for words and for finding pictures to match your words.
This is very clever! Love the poem and the two different photos positioned so perfectly! Hope your halloween has been fun. Have a wonderful week ahead :)

What beautiful words come spilling out on your blog. And lovely photos as well...I like the way you portray everything around you.
I hope your sadness has eased.

lovely photo, both in b&w and in colour. Wise words too
Beautiful images and words. I think shadows help us to notice and appreciate light even more.
I like the stark image of the bare trees against the sky
You are not only a gifted writer but a gifted photographer and have the "vision" to put the two art forms together..you are amazing, my friend :-)
