What is Black Friday anyway....

NO...NO...NO...

That's not even close, but it's supposed to be a day that takes your store's books from the
RED to BLACK...

The word "black" in Black Friday refers to the term "in the black" meaning making a profit. Today, Black Friday is not a crucial source of profit to retailers, but is important in driving traffic into stores. Many retailers mail special Black Friday circulars to consumers, announcing deeply discounted items in the hopes that consumers will visit their store on Black Friday.

So come on in if you wanna see happy retailers...it doesn't take much to push sales to a critical bill-paying point, a little here and there is all we ask...a warm body in the shop makes or breaks a day...just come in and say 'Hi'...you have no idea what it does for the spirit in these troubling times...sooooo...

Come on in and make us smile...

Love those pictures. Where did you come up with those? I'm working the holiday and this weekend. I'll be out next week.

We don't have this in Australia! Our big shopping spree days start on Boxing Day...till New Year!

Love your photos! Fascinating!

P.S. I have not been blogging for over a week! Just far too busy! Now it is all easing a little, (just a little!) I am playing catch-up!

absolutely LOVE the vintage photo of the man in full laugh face. those are rare i would image as almost all old photographs show the still images of very straight dour faced individuals who like me, probably preferred to be somewhere else than having their picture taken.
