Manley's Antiques...

My dealer friends from the St. Louis area, Pam and Gary from Country Meadows Antiques, traveled to Iowa to do some junkin' of their own...
great stuff at Manley's Antiques...

Great stuff, as always at Manley's Antiques...
this is what I like to think of when I think of Iowa dealers,
ready to wheel and deal, with fair pricing on everything...
great stuff clean and ready to stick in your home,
honest, hardworking American antique dealers!

Ya know, in this biz
some like us, some don't, you get complaints, you get praises,
you get over it...

I watch that show but don't think it represents what really goes on. Mostly, they buy the crappiest stuff I've ever seen. They may have been doing it a long time, but they definitely aren't dealers (I know, they are pickers) and they wouldn't be picking for me for very long.

Sounds to me like they are a little confused as to the definition of a "picker". You can be either one or the other (dealer) but seldom both.
C.D. watches the show, but I always end up getting pi$$ed off about something...but I LOVE Danielle!
Manley has some really quality antiques in house. Good to see the real thing.

I just loved Manley's. And Dave was so cool to come downstairs and show Dawn and I around LONG after close. That sucks about the pickers, I knew they were too good to be true.

Oops, looks to me like those people have just lost themselves a whole lot of business, not to mention their reputation.

Well done to the business owners who know the value of "going the extra mile"

Sharon,
We are home! I just posted pictures of your "The Candle Shed" on my blog. I can't tell you how much fun we had. Next time, you are going with us to the Wood fire Grill for dinner--not just McDonalds in the car! Gary is ready to move to Iowa! Ha! Even though we didn't get to look around at Pickers--it was still really fun to see all of it. Thanks soooo much for everything.

Dave and LeeAnn are what I'd consider good folks from The Heartland. Since living in Phoenix(which is now so huge with over 1.5million people and over 3million in the valley)I was so pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the merchants in N.Idaho are. The difference is night and day! Glad you and your buddies got to peruse a nice shop!!

Manley's always has the best "stuff". We've never made it to their shop but next time we're in Iowa, we're definitely going there. Business must the good at Pickers -- 4:00 really!

Hey Sharon...
We don't watch 'Pickers', anymore...I have always hated the term... 'pickers's'... sounds like they have something tickling their nose...
There are too many great folk, in the business... Wish we had better represenitves...
