Shadow Shot Sunday...fungi love...

Did someone notice a fungus among us...

Funky huh...I found these while out walking the other day
and they are still unidentified...don't worry, I'm not
having for lunch or anything, just curious!
At first I thought they were coffee filters,
blown over from the dead-beats trash across the street,
but a closer sleuthing, revealed they were shrooms,
of some sort anyway...!
Well, it doesn't take much to amuse me these days,
Shadow Shot Sunday, Tracys' gig down under will amuse,
hey, we're famous, don't ya know,
check us out fer sure!

Those look like old puffballs; full of dusty spores. Morels are just out with the mayapples, but the deer and other creatures find them before I do. They say it takes 5 years from spore to a fully grown morel. You find them under dead or dying elm trees in heavily wooded areas.

you are so funny..."coffee filters from the dead beats next door"...whatever type of fungus they are...it made for a cool shot anyway.
spring is eekking it's way in here...heard the first of the spring peeper on thursday night...well it was more of just a peep...he didn't have many friends joining in...more in the chorus last night! keep it coming...my cup runneth over!!

How convenient to have breakfast or lunch items so close to your house - you save a lot of time and energy!

you made me laugh when referencing "the dead-beat's trash across the street". don't I know all about that. whatever doesn't make it into their garbage carts ends up in my back yard, accumulating there against the fence. and it's a constant job keeping it picked up.
some interesting shrooms you've found here, very cool shot Sharon. have a great weekend!

Ha, coffee filters! I thought they were Reeses peanut Butter cups until my eyes came into focus.
Great shot!
You got any flooding down there? I'll be heading through there next Wednesday as I head to Memphis.
Hope all is good with you and Springtime grabs you and hoilds you captive.

Peace

WELCOME THE SHADOWS

Welcome the shadows surrounding your life,
Treat them as lover or husband or wife;
Welcome them in as you would one who’s dear;
Hug them, embrace them without any fear;
Honor, respect them, and give them their due,
For shadow and light are both parts of you.

No idea what kind of fungi this is! But Donna's comment on them was very interesting! And such great shadows!

Holidays! Yippeeee! It may be cool and windy and rainy (and will be all week), but I don't care! It's holidays! Time to write and walk and take photos from under an umbrella!

I have some school stuff to do, (heaps! sighh!) so I'm going to make a start on that early Monday morning (+ a little each early morning up to the weekend) and then I'm out! O the joy of freedom!

Meanwhile, I sense your excitement as Spring slowly awakens! Somehow i get the feeling that it makes you work harder at finding new projects! O Sharon! Do you ever just sit and drink in the view of the day? (I should talk!)

Don't believe it! As I type there's a drizzle of sun! There's hope!

BIG HUGS dear friend! Have a fun week!

I have a friend who loves everything fungi/mushroom - I'll have to share this with her. I enjoyed your pictures...and listening to Sara B. on your musick....

Whoa! Those are pretty bizarre and cool at the same time! I myself have no idea what the name of that fungus(i) is. Neat, though...

What unusual looking shrooms! I love how Americans call them shrooms! Here in Australia we call them mushies. Shrooms is a much cooler word! And I scrolled down to see the progress of your chook house and I love it all painted up. Great job Sharon! Your chicks will be the happiest chicks in town! Have a great week :)

PS - This is my 3rd attempt at your word verification! Sheesh my eyes must be worse than I thought! Fingers crossed this time I get it right!
