Shadow Shot Sunday...of puppy tales...

ahhh, yes, I remember the sun...
well, the furnace is back on again here in Ioway...
cold and rainy and no shadows,
however,
this could be a good thing, cause it'll keep me
inside to visit my fellow shadow shooters!
When the sun is out, I'm straight out to the gardens
little time(none)to visit my friends...
so I apologize to all I have not gotten to.

But this is the way of it in the Springtime in farm land,
up with the chickens at the crack of dawn,
diggin' in the black gold of Iowa till sundown.
I was going to remove all the spent tractor tires
lying around my yard, the former farm wife left behind,
but ya know, they remind me of a simpler life
when all was put to some use, a place for simple
gardening flowers and pieces of the past...
and a lil' garden that the husband
won't accidentally (yeah right) mow down...LOL...
Please join our growing group of Shadow Shooters
at Tracy's in Australia...and again...
just know friends that I haven't forgotten you...!

NEWS FLASH...it's snowing like a MOTHER...
well, that's Iowa for ya...

Super shadow shots! The sun is shining as I write this - sorry you have more of the nasty white stuff!!

well the weather isn't any better a few hundred miles northeast of you, let me tell you. it was 35 degrees here yesterday, and it poured all night long with a howling wind that just didn't want to give up the ghost. one good thing - it wasn't SNOW! spring is being very coy this year. but you've managed to find some lovely shadows my friend. and I agree with you about those old tractor tires. they once were as common a sight as a tire swing and an old lilac bush on all four corners of the yard. have a great weekend Sharon. I hope your little chicks are staying warm!

We survived the tornado threats, and the sun is shining now--so sorry you have snow, but it won't last long!! Cool shadow shots--clever girl to make even tractor tires look great!

Love the shadows - especially of the wee dog!
We are back to colder weather as well - but we're getting rain!
Have a great weekend!

The windmill is a classic, yet the blades seem out of place on the ground. Happily, a cute dog sniffs around and the shadows of machine and canine alike are quite cool indeed!

I so enjoy your tales of the Iowa countryside! Always so calming for the spirit! Love that first photo! Intriguing!

One week of the holidays down with an overload of rain! But finally the sun decided to peek out! Everything looked so fresh and beautiful! Enjoyed a photo stroll at the Martha Cove marina to see how that major development is evolving...lots of empty boxes by the waterway, but slowly mini gtardens are breaking it all up so that there is some semblance of individuality! I mainly love taking photos of the boats and their reflections!

Today is foggy, but they say it will clear! I am visiting early so that I can get out again! We will possibly drive south to Sorrento on the bay...the original hub of live pre Melbourne!

Thought I would be getting heaps of Autumn leaf shots these holidays! But some leaves still haven't changed, while others barely colour and then fall immediately! Most of my Autumn photos are of my own liquidamber in the front garden! A very strange season!

Another strange sight...galahs are appearing in our skies! Often in pairs! Sparrows are becoming more and more rare as are willy wagtails, silvereyes, peewees and finches! The magpie population, meanwhile, is exploding! And kookaburras just hang around laughing at it all!

Enjoy your week dearest sister! It's always good to wander here and check on your latest projects!

Super hugs!

Snowing?!? Good grief...y'all can't catch a break can you?
I love the idea of leaving the tires in place...handy dandy planters!

Down here in Henry County, it didn't snow. It is a brisk day for sure. We stayed home from the auction because it was just too crisp.
March is usually a trial here in Iowa but April is pretty funky this year!

No way!!!!! Snowing?!?!? I feel so guilty that we had a relatively windless day and it was sunny and warm. OK, but everything is in bloom and my allergies are suffering. But, snow?!?!?

Love your shadow shot puppy tail. And the tire. Snow? It was over 80 degrees here today.

Lucky you - no snow - here in Finland we still have, sigh.
Happy Sunday!

What? It started snowing again! Your weather is bonkers! At least you've had some sunshine.

Those tyres would make awesome little raised garden beds. I'm thinking potatoes would be great to plant in them. I wish I had a bunch of tractor tyres laying around! Lucky you! Have a great weekend Sharon!

Old windmill blades...I would never have thought of such a creative use for them!

SOME SAY THAT SHADOWS

Some say that shadows are fragments of light,
Others that they are but pieces of night,
Fleeing like demons when dawn becomes day,
Fearing the radiance coming their way.
Is one notion wrong and one notion right?
Just what are shadows if they are not light?
