Shadow Shot Sunday...Taken Back...

Diamonds in the rough
craftsmanship altered
demise of an era
I have shared my core
you have played with fashion
time has altered beauty
and time has altered function, yet...
demand outweighs logic
I've grown weary
in your waste
in your haste
you must have it all
you burden my soul...
do you not sleep
do your factories not take solace
are you aware of my pain
are you aware of my sorrow
are you aware...
do not take me a fool
I've taken many aback
I've brought many into shadow
I've absorbed many tears
you've turned cheek
and have stolen
all that was beauty
all that was pure
my Sister is here
her name is Time
and we gather together
and meld into history
another lifestyle
another chapter
another page
in the shadow of time
I take you home.

I think we often want more than we really need and waste what we have so easily.

Love the photo!

Your poems stir my soul. They seem to be written with such passion. Hopefully you are also writing these in paper form because emails disappear and computers do glitch. We hope to be able to purchase your book sometime. You are such an inspiration. I know I am inspired each time we talk. thanks for sharing your talent with us.

I do hope you will publish all your poems..beautiful.
Now for that car..My cousin had one like it, but it was souped up.
Took me for a ride and I thought my life was over..Of course, I can laugh now. Whew!
Happy SSS.

As usual, your words are very timely and moving. Your wonderful car shot ties in well with our decision this week to hang onto our 2002 car instead of trading it in on something brand new. By the time we had her professionally cleaned and polished to make her look presentable as possible, we fell in love with her all over again and couldn't bear to part with her.

Powerful piece of poetry! Quite an affirmation!

And your shadow shot of shadows and old rust is very stirring! Especially love the symbolic tilt of the image. We are leaning waiting to fall?

BIG HUGS to you and wishing you a wonderful Spring weekend in your world!

43 years ago, Bill walked out of the mall and couldn't remember where he parked his truck......

ha ha

Abandoned cars and buildings always stir my imagination. I contemplate how once, somebody was beaming over their brand new vehicle that they had just bought. It was once so proud and now it aches with rust.

I love the poem you have chosen to go with your shot. For some reason I have Formula one racing on the tv at the moment and have been too engrossed in SSS to turn off the noise! Your serene and forgotten old car makes a poignant contrast!
