Shadow Shot Sunday...If I had a dream...

If I had a dream
I'd take me back to olden times
I'd sing me sweet and simple rhymes
I'd play me harmless games of life
I'd dress me 'n simple threads so nice
If I had a dream
I'd live me life a brand new day
I'd ask the crow to show the way
I'd fly his course up high above
I'd pray for peace I'd free the dove
I'd walk the Earth in special shoes
I'd breath the air and ask for truths
If I had a dream
I'd ask the one inside of me
I'd ask what am I here to see
I'd awaken me to these Earthly dreams
I'd be back to live these golden themes
I'd write a book of the highest vow
I'd live the dream and live it now

like there was no 'morrow
ask me how

I'd dream

Nice, very evocative...takes me back to my grandparents' cabin in Colorado when I was a little boy...

There is such complexity in life it seems. Due to the times, or perhaps aging, the simpler past isn't always missed - but yearned for...

You depict my dream that I have wished for so long.... yet unavoidable, mundane responsibilities block the way. Life can get so full of doing, it becomes a shadowland... I like your looming shadows.

I love your use of the word 'me' in this poem. It gives it such an old-world charm.

Gorgeous photo and poem Sharon! I enjoyed your previous post about your handmade soap too! I had no idea it takes so long to make a batch of soap. Wow! I bet your home smells lovely during and after all that soap making!

Ahhhh! The dreamer in me adores the dreamer in you! Beautiful poem! And such a perfectly dreamy shadow shot!

We found some winter sunshine today, and we were out and about before it faded so I am a little late doing my SSS rounds!

We have managed to follow some sunshine these holidays. My favourite day was a trip to Point Nepean...the very end of the Mornington Peninsula marking the opening of Port Phillip Bay to Bass Strait leading to Tasmania. It was awesome to stand high and see two waterways! Sadly, you can also see how the land is crumbling into the sea! It is very narrow!

Still writing and writing! But love it! There have been many wet and cold days, so writing is a great alternative! Even started a new blog writing poetry to selected paintings!

BIGGEST HUGS to you! Enjoy your dreams!

That lovely battered old bowl is something others might have overlooked, but it is lovely how it accompanies your dream poem. Beautiful!

Ah, yes! I need the dream! How futile life would seem without our dream(s).

A good punch line wouldn't hurt either!
