What is this thing called chippy...

What is it about the lure of chippy white paint that has us in such thrall. Well, for one thing, if it has the look, it is a fairly old piece, but I think the biggest factor is, if you have even the most remote inkling if style and texture, the piece is going to bring a certain amount of pizazz to contemporary thinking. Today's woman are looking out of the box in their decorating skills. They want a statement...not just your Mother's house. But then there is the comfort feeling, of things that remind them of their childhood, like the cool comfy stuff that Granny had on the porch or in the kitchen when she shelled her peas or was slaving over a hot stove. Today's savvy households have multiple levels of design that somehow all work together giving the female of the home that look that she knows where her life is going. But there is always the exception of gay men...I love gay men and the incredible, personal style they give to their spaces. They just ooze with artistic flair and just have a way that makes you fall in love with your piece and crave more to embellish your space with drama of all shapes and eras...ahhhhh...Saturday...SHOPPING...(and yard sales for trash...I mean treasures)

I love it too..especially if there are 2 or even 3 colors peeking through. And don't you love the old wavy glass? That ranks right up there with the chippy paint...mmmhhmmmm.

Chippy...can't seem to get away from it, always drawn to it. Maybe it's the allure that there's a story behind all the chippy colors peeking through and you so wish you knew the previous life of the piece.
