Shadow Shot Sunday...Little feet...

Little feet
promenade in cellulose
memories saved, as
well worn rhymes dance solo
in a curious ode to joy.
Gilded tracks
trace the commute to
a cameras' published heart,
as childlike sprites
abducted from a book
of hostage spirits
escape to waltz again
in a lifetime
gone away.

Baby shoes encrusted with bronze protective coatings, remember when...
yeah, yeah, me too, showing our age huh!

Had a brief moment of sunshine yesterday,
so I quick snapped this fleeting shadow of a shoestring stiff with age...'s a shadow...right!!!
And it's winter in the gotta be quick!

Anyway, go check out the really far out shadows over at
Harriet's place...K!!!

Ah, no one will ever tie THOSE shoes again!

If you see a shadow
And want to keep it near,
Point your trusty shooter
(Make sure the lens is clear);
Press with care the shutter,
Do not slam or sock it—
Then you’ll have a photo
To carry in your pocket!

I LOVE the old shoes. and the shaow of the laces. So evocative of times gone by. Nice poem, too.
MMTeacher, I love your poem too! I'm thinking Peter Pan would have loved Shadow Shot Sunday!

Youth and childhood are fleeting things. The shoes of bronze recall a place and time of long ago. And we reminisce with a smile here...

I love how delicate the shadows are. and you have a great eye to notice them. I'm happy you've had just a bit at least of sunshine. we've had 2 days of it now and it's glorious! enjoy the weekend and happy SSS!

I kept my daughter's first shoes, but didn't bronze them. These are precious little shoes. This is a lovely SS shot.

Sharon that shadow says so much : )
I wish I had saved a pair of baby shoes from my son's "in the blink of an eye" baby years .. drats .. but I have other memorabilia .. alas an only child and you would think I would have stacks ? haha .. nah, military life with moving constantly kept us from being pack rats thankfully .. all I have to do is watch a "Hoarder" episode and I start screaming ? LOL
Yes .. we have to be FAST in WINTER-LAND to catch a shadow !
Joy : )

Such a glorious, whimsical magic in these photos! And love your poem!

In wonderful worlds
Where once little feet wandered
Like dreams in flash-back

Back at school! So far, we have just had professional development days. The students start back on Tuesday! Already the heat to develop new programmes with new teachers and to meet deadlines! But I return home and sit on my verandah sipping coffeee and viewing the sea! Instant balm for the soul! I'm going to make a habit of this!

Our school has a brand new Performing Arts Centre! It's like a mini theatre with seating for 600, huge stage, sound proof music nooks, lots of mirrors out back etc. I just wandered through it on Friday in complete awe! What a buzz for students and teachers!

I am also hoping to keep schoolwork for night-time on weekdays and none at the weekend! I'll see how long that lasts! It sounds good!

And at last we have a real summer day! We expect 40 degrees centigrade in Melbourne today! Unbelievable!

Hope you enjoy your weekend! Super hugs dearest friend!

Shoestrings of the heart.
lost pitter patter of tiny feet
anxious ears for sudden tumbles
only remembered
by these little shoes . . .

Sweet, sweet, sweet baby shoes! Ours never got bronzed (hard to do on Molokai).
Went over to Sister's garden too-what glorious things! Make sure the folks who film movies know about you. They like shops like yours-especially when doing a location shoot, so be sure to get your business listed in the Iowa Film Industry register (or whatever it would be called).
Set decorators would have a hey day at your place!

I have some bronzed booties that belonged to my Dad's youngest Brother, so glad I inherited them because I find them to be absolutely charming!

great shadow!!! gotta take those sun shots when we can!! yesterday's snowy, sunless day gave way to a beautiful sunny day today...donned my snow garb and ventured out into the crisp day to capture some sun photos...not all that bad out when standing in the presense of the sun's rays.

glad to hear you hit 41. not quite that lucky here...but we will take the sun whatever the temp may be.

hope you have a great week planned of creating and just "be"ing.

hugs from sunny michigan.

This ShadowShot almost made me cry. Really. Those little, bronze encased shoes held a precious memory for some mommy. Would her child ever remember how much she always loved him? Would he marry a woman who would steal all his sweet memories from him and replace them with nothing but venomous memories? Yikes, you can see this struck a chord with me. Lovely ShadowShot. (The sad music playing in the background really set the mood!!)
