stirs soft, lazy dreams
disturbed white frozen fluff
again harbors a silence
it whispers...wait...
a nights dark howling presence
gathers it's carnival
of wicked unrestrained revelry
while thee sleep
demons gather Mardi Gras
it howls...observe...
do not be fooled
by masked monks
these spring nymphs
masquerade and swoon
follow me...soon...
I will shower thee
with a cache of promise
fresh green garland
petal-strewn hair blown free
sweet song and scent
nourish hope...listen
I follow the wind
I am the prelude
I am unrestrained revelry
I am carnival
the rite of spring.
Funny how things can change in an instant...Mulder thought Spring was upon him, but like we say here in the North...it ain't over till it's over...I won't complain(too loudly) of the 3 inches we got last night, because deluding myself is fruitless, Spring is a month away. But as March approaches, we know these snows don't last, as warm airs move them in liquid form to the South, to the Gulf.
But for now it's Sunday in Australia, Shadow Shot Sunday is again upon us...our charred neighbors to the South could use a little of this snow and rain, instead we'll send you shadows...in hopes that it will lift some of the sorrows your country feels today...as we here in the states are witnessing early tornadoes, lake effect blizzards, mudslides, ice storms, freezing temps and wildfires in my Florida, river floodings and droughts...have I left anything out...geeeez Louise, what next!!!
Have a wonderful weekend...in spite of the snows(and see above), my bloggy friends!

So much for Mulder sunbathing, eh?
Nice snow shadow Sharon and what is that alien doing there?
Great shadows! The bush looks amazing with its shadow against the snow.
bring it mother nature...the spirit isn't completely broken...better days are coming!!!
Thank you for visiting my blog!!
Great shadows!! That is what our days have been lately.....no snow, snow, snow, snow, no snow!! Spring will come and all of this snow will be worth it! (optimism works)
And I love the rest of your site!! I love antiques, junk, repurposing!!
Hey there Sharon. My area is void of snow at present...thankfully. They are saying an inch tonight maybe, that's an inch too much! I'm ready for chirping birds and sunshine!
Lisa
Interesting shadows against the snow. Have a great day.
Hey Sharon - I had to google the coffee you told me about..that is pretty funny and the comments people left about it sounds like it's pretty good stuff.
Mulder..you sexy thang...The sun will be out before ya know it. THINK SPRING!
Sure beats having fairies at the bottom of your garden. I guess I should refrain from telling you what a glorious, warm Sunday morning we are having today. That would be too cruel.
Delightful, gentle shadows. Very dreamy!
And thank you heaps for your shadow wishes! Great idea for our firey world! Fires are still burning but getting close to control! We are expecting drizzly rain in Victoria today and it even looks like it may happen!
Love your pics and your poems!
Love your new header, Sharon, and I love Mulder. You are so creative with your SSS posts, I love visiting you.
We had those early tornadoes you mentioned, here in Georgia, an F2 passed right above our main thoroughfare Wednesday, and thank goodness, didn't touch down. Our surrounding counties weren't so lucky.
Happy Sunday to you! xo
Ahh...scary that aliens are enjoying your snow, huh?
Lovely shots and of course w/ the addition of your beautiful poems, make more lovelier!
Hugs to you on Sunday!
A very creative shadow shot and the poem is awesome as usual. I hope it warms up for you soon. The weather is just crazy. I think Mother Nature is trying to tell us something maybe. I'd trade you some of my sunshine for some of your snow if I could! Have a wonderful Sunday Sharon :)
Spring will come, it really will. In the meantime, I love your Mulder.
ah that alien makes me giggle Sharon, and still it snows, yes some of that over here would be quite nice right about now!! Happy sunday to you :0)
Ohhh....now all I can think of is New Orleans Sharon! I say we skip the next few weeks up north, and just head south! {Does Mulder have his ship ready?}
You are right....one more month...and counting!!
Mulder needs a hat in the first photo. Only 27 short days to go:)
Sharon, I think you have enough blankets to spare one for Mulder!!?? I'll bet he's not from a cold planet, what with all that green skin (does that mean he....neeeeked??)hahahha!
Have a great Sunday, even though it's till Saturday..but in just a few hours it will be Sunday, but does that make it Monday in Australia?
Wow..my brain hurts..
A sweet subtle shadow but I love the Mulder more!
Beautiful poetry.
Have a wonderful Sunday and upcoming week.
Fun post. You're so right that we in the north must wit a bit longer. But I must admit that I'm excited that March is only a week away!
Interesting shadows.
Great blog as always..I like that little green guy..We are getting more snow tonight, 8 to 10 inches..
Oh my, this is one long winter.
but when I read all the things in your blog that are happening..I should never complain.
Happy SSS..
I LOVE that you have an alien in your yard! I can honesly say that is a first! Looks like he'll have a great view for all the flowers that will soon be popping out of the ground! I can't wait either!!
Have a great day!
Beth

Nice work with an all-weather alien theme. Maybe we should all get one and have a sub-meme. Imagine all the places it can go??
How much fun is this site! I'll have to come back and browse the whole thing. Thanks for visiting my blog.
