Someone complained on a friends blog the other day about how sick they were of seeing shop pics and people's homes and kids...how sad to awaken every morning to the doubt and confusion in one's mind as to what you wish to complain about in the course of a day...I enjoy hearing about what Willow had for breakfast and how Charmaine's deck is coming along and walks on the shoreline with Gemma and Theresa's next shopping trip and Deb's lil' Bella's progress and Cathie's gardens and Marnie's roses and Barb's new settings and the 2 Chippys next fling and TOT's next creation...it's all in a day in my world...why would I complain...
I hope this person will see the sun rise in a different shade this morning, as a day in the life is way too short...and a baby doll head is just a head...if you're creeped out, I'm sorry, but don't steal the moment from the ones who care...shut your door and turn off your computer...we have lives to LIVE, however just know that you are loved!
My brand new old chair awaits the sun on a hazy summer morn...this chair faces the East so I can watch the sun start it's day over my lil' piece of paradise, as the birds sing their sonatas to a new day's dawn...in my world...
A young Katydid tries to hide from my peering lens...then scared the crap outta me when it jumped on me...in my world...a simple thing...
...and once again, I never tire of my Iowa country roads and the paths I follow in a day in the life of a woman with a simple plan and the words of a friend...JUST BE...Thanks for the coffee Robin...

Thanks for telling it like it is. We're not here for free entertainment, but for ourselves and expressing what matters to us. If I dig it I come back, otherwise I just keep rambling on that backroad looking for others who share peeks into their world...trivial as it may look to an outsider.
Hey, at least we aren't setting up the projector and screen and tying 'em to their chairs! The door's thataway!!!
Debbie
thanks for those words. I know blogs allow people the freedom to be who they are and to say what they think, so in my mind, that person must just be miserable, mad at the world. I'm so thrilled to read the day to day of people, I can't imagine growning tired of it. I thank everyone for allowing me to peek into their everyday! So to that person, I agree, turn off the computer and get a different life!!!!
You have to wonder why, if a reader finds a blog uninteresting, they bother to read it at all. It takes more effort to read it and then write a complaint than to just not go there. I'm like you, Sharon, I'm all for simplicity.
Is it because we're getting older? It doesn't take much to amuse us anymore;) We have settled into a phase of acceptance--live and let live? We aren't trying to bring everyone around to our point a view anymore? Oh well, we all gotta live our own lives and write about what interests us.

You're a wise woman, Sharon.
And the deck is slowly coming along! Ramada boards stained and ready to install. Yippee!
I adore your new chair.
I find it hard to share personal stuff on my site, but to get negativity in a comment is hurtful. Thanks for your voice of support! Love traveling your backroads with you!! (Great doll photo)
Even country roads
lead to wonder-filled places—
just open your eyes.
Amen sista! Love this post. I get the impression this person would complain about the sun rising or not rising and complain they've won the lotto and don't know what to do with all the money! I'll help them spend it on more junk then post pics about it, ha ha!! Hope it's sunny in your part of the world, thanks for them mention too!
I adore those mellow old dolls! And it was my old standby Cheerios, btw. We certainly do blog to know we're not alone.
Great post sharon, I always heard rumors that there were people out there like that. Now i know there is! YICKS!!!
Wonderfully worded post! I could sit in your new old chair and chat about the beauty of simplicity all day. Heck, I could even write about it!
Maybe that person shouldn't be reading blogs!!!!! Duhhhh, and kudos to you for your explaination. On another note, how cute is that doll with half an arm gone???!!!! I think I need her with my one with a whole arm gone that I got from you before, would you sell her to me? Lauri@chippys
Visiting blogs is so much fun! Love to see what everyone is up to. (How much is the old pink dresser? Love it!) ~Mandy
Please don't tell me there's someone out there who doesn't want to hear about my g'children. I love the fact that sometimes we have days so mundane that we can only discribe our kids, antiqueing, moving furniture in our houses or shops or a new recipe. When I started this blog my friend who helped me said do it for yourself -- not others. Jan
it's sorta like when you tell the doctor "it hurts when I do this" and the doctor says... "then don't do that!"...
I linked to you from Deb's trash talk blog... and I'm adding your blog to my favorite junkin' blogs.. hope that ok!
Dixie
Can I just say I love you! That's why I love blogging and bloggers - we can talk, cry, complain, laugh, shop, cook and brag and it's all OK..aren't we supposed to be here for each other? And this person doesn't have a gun to her head to sign-on and read does she?? Geesh :-( She must have slept with her mouth open and all the grumpies crawled in...
PS - LOVE your new-old chair :-)
How interesting to learn about someone complaining on someone else's blog. I'm so new to this, but I guess I should be prepared that it could happen some day. You have a great attitude about that. When I started my blog last month, I figured I could be talking to myself or the world! Maybe the complainer feels she's not with the "in" crowd. All she needs to do is jump in!
i believe when people write & share pictures (as you do of these shops and yours) and share and talk of your Iowa, that we are transported to these places with your words. i believe when you describe your chateau and the grass returning to its natural wildness that we are there with you. when hey harriet and the gray territory (sorry i don't remember you moniker correctly, but always know who you are..) describe Australia, a land i will never physically visit, i can see your country in my mind and your pictures take me there, and i am SO grateful for that. i believe we ALL have something to learn from each others lives. i LOVE to read your blogs, all of them.
your corn fields may be dull to some person, but to me, they are pure beauty. Harriets sea and cultures show me things i have never seen and probably never will.
thank you to all of you who take the time to write and share with us. i share the coffee on the porch with my daughter and wish you could all be there with us, as we contemplate and appreciate our country road and the simplicity we strive for in our lives.

Nice, everyone's blog is different yet special in their own way, so I can't imagine why anyone want to complain. you have a happy weekend anyway.
right on!
awesome way with words ..
(she probably wouldn't like my blog either :)
It's always a pleasure to visit you in Iowa and catch up with your latest adventures and shopping expeditions - keep up the good work!
I think that this person has the right to feel the way they do. No big deal. I just don't think I'd complain about it to someone else or even comment on the blog. I'd just go on the the next one.
That new (old) red chair reminds me of one from my childhood. Wouldn't it be something if it found it's way to YOU? I do enjoy your lovely photos and musings ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Sharon- If I never read blogs, I would have never found you. And your shop. And discovered our mutualk interest of Sisters. And that would be something that would be sad. I agree with the 2 chippys- if you don't like that sorta blog, don't read it. This is why I do not read financial pages nor watch political commentary shows. Why is this difficult for people to understand? Guess they aren't as smart as us Iowans...and our junk luvin bloggin friends!
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
