The moon and the stars glow
on the eve of my becoming
bright beings peek
into my dreams
reminding me of another home
what if my Father was Zeus
what if my Mother Athena
what of other worlds
and legacies of mere mortals
what if...
what if we were not
of this terrestrial plane
what if great ships
greeted Aboriginal kind
what if star seeds
were me
and I shared grace with the dolphin
what if...
what if my Mother
what if my Father
came home
would I run away
or would I
remember...

Shadow Shot Sunday is upon us once again...and again I wander to my world of 'what if'...always seeking answers to questions unknown, my mind takes a celestial turn, as I look to the stars on a starry night...or at least on the pattern of moon and stars on top of this old camel back trunk, as the early morning drifts quietly into my room.
Check us out for other terrestrial shadows...Hey, Harriet...you wanna play too...

Great stamped metal on that old trunk lid!
Makes one ponder -- probably after I have a 2nd cup of coffee. Have a good weekend. Jan
I love "what if" dreaming, eyes closed, just quiet, then I wake myself up with a snoring sound and ask "was that me? did I just make that noise???"
your song playing for your sss poem and photo is forgiven...this, today, brings me comfort and peace.
have a blessed day.
hope you experience a sunny iowa day. we will be having a lovely october day of cold, gray, rain. so when you come for coffee, bring your blanket.
What if we are light
Captured in earthly terrains
Until new stars fall
Now look what you have done! I am off on one of my "out of mind" adventures!
Love it!
Just love it!
Little moons and stars
swirl in delicate orbit
on the old trunk’s lid.
beautiful trunk! I love it! and that header picture is some shadow shot, too! :)
Beautiful metal with the stars/moon. Nice shot. We are still in the rain..a few days sun and back to rain. Woe is me!
Beautiful poem too..I wonder how a title would be.."What If Maine Had Some Sun"? Would the mold leave me?
Happy SSS.
I love this poem. WE all have possiblities to act upon and make real.
We're having a partial solar eclipse in Japan this Wednesday. Interesting that your poem is sort of related to that.
