Blo...blo...blog...

Can we talk...

Should I cut it, should I keep it...those are the questions I ask you , my Sisters of the blog...
You are with me in the She-cave where all the magic happens...you identify with the choas that surrounds a woman, a Mother, a partner, an artist...we are all individual fruitloops in that big bowl of cereal we call blog.

You understand TOTALLY my love of the lil' pink shack...er Chateau...and the simple beauty that surrounds my humble life, my two loves...home and...

the HEATHEN...'No Scratchy'...it's not that Scratchy is so bad, it's just that she's a terrier, but she is well worth her salt, as my yard becomes a mass grave of mouse carcass in the winter...17 and counting so far...'Good Scratchy'...not to mention that she is a constant companion and never fails to make me smile! (most of the time)

But my love of Iowa...the lost continent, is quite apparent, as her beauty shines often in my posts, as simple life happenings enshroud my world...the flowers, the snows, the gentle summer breeze, the sound of the cicada, winds howling as sky's darken threatening doom, as a summer storm approaches, the Weather Channel warns to stay home as an ice storm is on the horizon. Yes, my Iowa, home of my birth and the memories of childhood. The Tomboy, her love of horses, climbing trees, collecting snakes and throwing apples at my lil' Brother from my tree-top fort...all great fun as a child moves forward...

and my beautiful daughter turns forty and needs her first pair of glasses, how 'bout this pair Mom, whatta ya think...yeah, they're my favorites too...yes my daughter turned forty this past summer, you were there, as you were when my Grandson turned 21...(argh)...my faithful friends of the blog...

Some five plus years ago my Brother was still trying to talk me into getting a computer...I balked right, knowing it would take up so much of my time...well, I had no clue...but it was well worth every second of those precious minutes. The friends I have made is worth every measure of time expended sitting in the dark in the wee hours typing out bits and pieces of me and mine.

Ya'll are my life now...you have expanded my horizons, encouraged me to move on, to reach for the heights. Never expecting perfection, only seeing the beauty within. Ya'll are the bomb!

Having the opportunity to actually finally meet some of you is WAY cool and we don't even have to get to know each other, we are already BFF! You know who you are, your names are all over my sidebar and beyond, my YaYas, my Sisters of the Soul...you are there in the click of a button.
Just one thing I want to say...YOU DA MAN!!!

i have had the same haircut.. the one you see in my picture since 1995... before that it was the same ,, but longer,, and bigger...

i am sick of it,, but i don't know what to do about it.. if its long,, i feel like i have to tie it up all the time and if it is short,, you cant just get up and go,, as the bed head is severe...

so i don't know.. your hair looks easy to manage the way it is... but then as the other girls say,, change is good... and it is. soooooo..... dang... i'm a lot of help aren't i?????

Now that is the question of the ages! A BIG question with your beautiful locks that make you so...You-go-girl-Sharon. The answer of the ages is go ahead -change is in the air and spring is on the Iowa hoizon- and it will grow back if you decide you want it to

I thought I was the biggest hold out against change. I refuse to get cable or dish TV because I'm afraid it will waste too much of my time. I did embrace the computer about 10-years ago and it does take up way too much time;)

Better wait till spring if you decide to cut your hair. Short hair does feel much better in the summer.

I watch your blog from afar. Your hair is spectacular and as unique as you are. Don't you dare start conforming to some predictable image for women in our age group. HA! As if that were even possible:)

Hi Sharon!! I feel the same way, all my blog friends are my sisters...I love them all!! What about this, chop the hair to about shoulder length, it'll give you some swing and have them lightly layer around the bottom. It'll be a wonderful change and you can decide from there if you want it back long or to go shorter! Have a great day and stay cozy, xxoo, Dawn

A couple of years ago I got so tired of drying my hair & I colored mine too, so I cut it all off really short & spikey and never looked back. Never even touch it with a comb anymore. It's so great -- just put a little goop in it & off I go. I've also noticed that my hair is the only thing about my person that I get compliments on anymore. Also, it's all white like yours. Jan

Sorry, I forgot, I love being your blog friend. Now I can almost see you at your computer in the pink chateau entering those wonderful stories. Your desk looks like mine. Jan

First, thank you for the love letter(I'm assuming I'm included in your list of BFF's). 2nd, Do Not Cut Off Your Hair. As another age inapproiate keeper of long hair, girl, we are like Samson, if you catch my drift. Who cares if we are too long in the tooth-the hair covers up the tooth. My philosophy is just cut enough to keep me from going from Jane Seymore Land into that of Crystal Gayle. I've had short and I've had long. Long good, short bad, for me. I don't recommend layers-too much work. Besides I figure the long hair keeps 'em from looking at the other parts of me that are going south and not just for the winter. I think you have beautiful hair. If a change is what you're wanting, how about a pushup bra? Now this is just my opinion and that and $10 will get you a cup of coffee.

When you say "cut it", I assume you mean your hair!!! :^) I did just that several years back. I had long red hair, to the middle of my back. I turned 50 and wanted something different. I woke up one morning and decided today was the day, so I cut my hair without telling anyone. Wow! It was a shock to many! Who was that woman in the mirror? I loved it, tho, and have kept it short for 5 years now.

One day that morning will arrive for you... and you'll be surprised how light your head feels. And you might even get a little curly-do once the length is gone. I am thinking of you..xox

Keep your beautiful long hair!! I loved mine long and wore it in a French braid just like that. Wish I still had it. I vote "no chop".

I love it. You crack me up.
I love your hair the way it is. I think it fits with your free spirit, wild woman personality- it suits you.
But hair grows back, so if you really feel the need for change, it doesn't have to be permanent.

I'm with Diva, CHANGE is good. Go for it!! I can imagine you looking 10 years younger for sure. I saw the word 'NUT' on your wall :P

Your hair is gorgeous, and I can't believe you're thinking about cutting it BUT, in the end, it's your hair, and you should do what you want to.

Because I spent a year with no hair (chemo) I figured when I had hair back - it would be mine- short or long or permed or colored...mine. I finally set upon what is now my trademark short-spiky-gray hair - but to each her own - be who you are - and remember - it's only hair- it will grow back - the color will wash out - the perm will relax..it's hair. Do what feel best for YOU!

And, ditto on the mushy-stuff..

Love ya, NuT!

I chopped my medium length hair into a "flippy bob" a few months ago, and the amount of comments I got on my "new" hairdo were almost overwhelming - Made me think it DEFINITELY must have been time for a change!:) Anyway, when I made the decision to chop it off, I thought "If I don't like it, I can ALWAYS grow it back!" I say GO FOR IT!:) Jen

Hmmm, the hair is a tough one. I keep mine pretty short-it's just easier. I'm all for getting rid of every mirror on the planet. Love your shots of cottages. I bet there was a well-worn path between your gram's and your parents! Jackie

I say whatever makes you happy! My great grandma never cut her hair...wore it long, grey and braided til the day she died. Me I have to chop and dye mine ever time I get stuck in a rut. I guess I'm no help?!

Change is energising! I found that after moving house!

Now re hair! My hair was cut once! And then, all I did was wish it was long again! But that's me! I'm keeping my long hair now! If I want to feel it's short, I just twirl it up! Easy!

Keep your hair girl...when I think of Sharon, it's the first thing that comes to mind. :)

DON't YOU DARE CUT OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL HAIR!
So, i said it. But offcourse its your hair and you do with it you want.
I look around me and see most of the woman past 50 giving away all their beauty. Why? Because its easier?
You're a crone, i wish you to be the most beautiful crone there is till the day you die.

I too say cut your hair. I did. Went from waist long to shoulder and then recently I went to just below the chin! So liberating! :)
