SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY-Come on in...

Come on in...the door's unlocked...
Welcome friend...
Won't ya' sit a spell
and have some tea,
it's sweet tea,
like Granny used to make.
An open door
and open heart,
no strangers enter here.
Mi casa, su casa
please, sit in the rocker
and enjoy my view.
Lush plains reveal
moments in time,
in every rustle of leaf,
every petal picked...
I'll sweep a path in new fallen snow,
to guide you to my warm hearth.
Please stop by
won't you...
memories are free,
through my door,
on my porch.

Oh, how I dream to see those beautiful purple iris...well, it's that time again...
Meander on over, cross'd the pond where it's Sunday in Australia and visit the shadow shooters.
We're a fun bunch...really, join us won't you.
A collage of porches to drool over...such artistry, back in the day...even the lil' pink shack...I mean Chateau... has a comfy nook to settle in(when it's warm). Thought you'd enjoy some shots of the hood, in my lil' piece of time.

That little pink shack is the best!

I second what Diva says!

A charming collection of porch shadows. I'd love to sit for a spell. Thanks very much. Would it be terribly rude of me to ask for coffee instead of tea? I don't really like tea. Even if it's sweet like granny used to make. Granny used to offer me Iced Vovos with my tea & I didn't like Iced Vovos either...

Have a great weekend :)

Wonderful porches, but I like your cozy pink porch the best.

Yes, thanks, I'll sit a spell. Please pour me some tea. Fill me in on the latest scoop. :)

Ah - American porches. Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories of trips to the States when we got out of the big cities and drove through little towns and cities with houses just like these. Gorgeous shots.

Your little piece of time in the shack is my favourite of all Iowa memories! After wandering here regularly, I feel the little pink place is high on my virtual memory list!

And I'll have either tea OR coffee thanks!

Hi Sharon. Gorgeous photos! I absolutely love your quote too. Would you mind if I posted it on my blog as a lead-in for a piece I am writing about my being in RH? I would give credit and a link to your blog.

Thanks again! Iowa looks beautiful!

Love your pink house and thanks for the comment on the scarey doll heads! I don't have a man in MY house anymore, do I have my grown son and his wife, but he never says anything since he's addicted to the business as well!!
Take care,
Sue

They're all beautiful, but the pink chateau looks like the one where I would feel most comfortable pulling my shoes off(when it's warm). And could you please make mine a Long Island Tea? BTW, I wish I could pull a book out of my A--!!! Tn't

I love porches! The shadows on the first one are just great! But the most inviting...the friendliest by far...is that of the pink chateau!!!

Hey girlfriend!

I LOVE porches...and of course being from the south, the porch is where as kids we would sleep the evening's away, listening to the crickets and other wild animals...oh yeah that was my cousin! :)

LOVE them all....and I am with "T", I'll meet you on YOUR porch during the summer with a tall glass of iced tea (non sweet for me...but add some mint leaves would ya?) But, you can meet me on mine for the winter!

I too slept on my Grandma's porch in the hot summers as a child. It wasn't nearly as pretty as your shots, Sharon and they are beautiful. Your photography is extraordinary as is your poetry. You're so talented. Thanks for another great memory.

Yes, porches are ideal places for visiting - half in half out.
I particularly loved the one with dark green columns.

Your photo of porches are beautiful. A cosy porch adds so much character to a house. Somewhere to put your feet up, drink you coffee in the morning and your beer in the afternoon ;)

What wonderful homes but the best...is yours! I love it!

The desert is green right now. It can be beautiful, believe it or not.
