Ancient Tone

Mute color speaks of ancient fabrics, ancient architecture, ancient lives...of articles used to weather the days to eternity, in home, in work, at play. All ancient forms of art by some maker long gone, but kept alive in the fabric of our existence...ahh, home sweet home, mine for the making.

Many of your photos seem bitter sweet. Things no longer cared for, unused or misused, now found again and waiting to be appreciated and loved in a new home.

I'm a little odd when it comes to projecting life and personality into inanimate things. How many people imagine worn out furniture or neglected houses as unhappy...waiting for someone to want them again?

Sharon, these are my favorite shades of old....muted, chippy, rusted and worn ~ where would we be were it not for our love of old?

Love these pics! For me, the mute colours hold echoes of old lives, but not necessarily sadly. The colours are ridden in dust ~ that place we return. And so these objects hold a last breath of life until a new breath revives them. And yes, loves them for not what they are, but where they have been and the stories secreted in them. So, what may once have been inanimate, becomes full of life!

P.S. Your posting, very easily could be a beautiful poem. Take a new line for each fragment of thought.

I think that's why I am a junker. I love to 'adopt' these old, once loved/used things and give them hope once more. I especially love to use my bits&pieces when I make a new necklace or bracelet.
beautiful post, Ms. SharonNut
