Shadow Shot Sunday #11

The Shell

Sing
mid-day songstress of the trees,
the summer of your existence flies full circle.
Your former self strikes pose
as your true beauty rises
again.
Wings strong and empowered
heave your fully mature essence
to the treetop.
Sing
beautiful creature
of a mid-summer's day
and life fullfilled,
sing
as your summer ebbs quickly
to the season
of your rebirth.

It's here again, get on over to Hey,Harriet and check out all the photos for Shadow Shot Sunday. There are some interesting happenings on Ms. Harriet's blog...what's that ol' saying...poet and don't know it :)

I don;t know how you can make a crunchy old bug shell sound so beautiful and then photograph it so well! Heesh...leave a little talent in the talent wadding pool for the rest of us,huh?!
Serioulsy I love your words and your photos...I'm just jealous.

What magical lighting in this pic! Shadows and fragments of nature just enhance this tiny bug!

And then there is your poetry! What praise for the beauty of small things!

And the lovely Loreena voice sings on...sighhhhhhh

What a lovely balance of words and image.
Each enrich the other.

Nice shot! When I saw it, I immediately thought of my son's "cicada skins collection" down in the basement. LOL - but your poem made it seem much more beautiful. I will look at his collection with new eyes now.
